Bartleby, what Laura said. It's what Dick referred to as his 'Sharks' Premium Ticket Package' and 'Sharks' Memorabilia Gift Bag' when he was talking to Veronica about Betina in the previous episode, I Am God.

I've been thinking about the Oscar. Right now, it seems as though it was stowed in a storage locker (either because Aaron hid it there, after the murder, or it survived the fire and got stowed, there--I'm not clear on that part). Aaron wasn't under suspicion until long after the fact, so he had plenty of time to hide stuff, without being noticed.
So, Aaron had Kendall hire the hooker to get Cliff's briefcase, so she could get the key, get the Oscar, get Donut's hair, and plant it on the Oscar, and...
1) ...bury it in the Kane's yard, near the pool that was going to be dug up, and hope it would be found?
Ugh. We can simplify this, maybe Kendall...
2a) ...didn't even bury it. Maybe she just planted it in an already partially excavated spot on the Kane property, where she could be sure it would be found.
2b) ...had Danny Boyle (who works construction) or another Fitzlackey plant and/or find it at the site.
It's also possible (although it seems unlikely) that...
3) Aaron buried the Oscar at the scene of the crime, at the time. It seems the cops should have noticed the ground disturbed, but we're talking about Neptune's finest, and even Keith seemed satisfied that the ashtray was the weapon. Still, this theory would probably require some sort of landscaping material around the Kane pool--something like mulch that wouldn't show it had been disturbed--something that allowed Aaron to bury it at the time of the murder, and would allow Kendall to find it, and plant the hair on it.
Explanation 3 is far too clunky, AND would make the storage locker--and probably the theft of Cliff's briefcase--seem unnecessary though, so I'm going with 2a or 2b, probably 2b.
The question remains, how/why would Aaron have his Oscar on hand, at the Kane's house, when he killed Lilly?
I'm thinking Lilly took--not only the tapes--but the Oscar. A trophy's a trophy.
...didn't even bury it. Maybe she just planted it in an already partially excavated spot on the Kane property, where she could be sure it would be found.
Keep in mind, Kendall's the one selling the Kane house. She's had plentyof opportunity to plant it.
He's scary as heck.
t nods Rowland used to be quite hot (he dated Gillian Anderson briefly, IIRC), but even in the peak of his looks, the dude always looked vaguely dissipated. He's got them crazy eyes! I've never watched Space: Above and Beyond, but he's played someone unbalanced/psychotic in every single thing I've seen him in.
Prize given by Woody on the field trip. As in maybe Woody put bomb in prize and rigged it to go to Dick to blow up the limo, but Dick gave it to Betina and it made bus go boom. Maybe.
Also, recall that Dick mentioned he fished the gift basket out of the trashcan after Peter, who won the raffle, threw it away. And Peter, a.k.a. Mizz P, is the one from the gay chat room/message board who died in the bus crash, and who was going on about "outing of all outings" in Veronica's dreams, which I'm sure concerns Woody Goodman. Good motive for Woody to rig the raffle so that Peter could get the gift with the nasty toy surprise, non? Even though the whole "bomb in the gift basket" thing is only a conjecture at this point.
Re. Oscar: If Aaron had Kendall plant the evidence... then *why* use the Oscar? OK, so let's say it's the actual murder weapon = has Lilly's blood on it, but the damn thing also has his name on it. Wouldn't it be risky for Aaron to bring this forth, even with the planted evidence of Duncan's hair?
always be Ed Jerse to me from "Never Again,"
And it took him manhandling Veronica to creep you out? Beating his downstairs neighbor to death for playing the Patriridge Family too loudly didn't do the trick?? (That was such an awesome episode.)
That was such an awesome episode.
It still kills me that they got Jodie Foster to play the voice of an evil tattoo.
Beating his downstairs neighbor to death for playing the Patriridge Family too loudly didn't do the trick??
One thing I'll give Chris Carter props for (though it was probably the people he hired), he was good at incongruous music over horrifying death scenes (see also the slaughter a la Johnny Mathis in HOME and the road side kill and torch to HORSE WITH NO NAME from Millennium).
Also, how/why would Duncan *get* Aaron's Oscar? The theory they're going on (or trying to introduce) is that he killed in a moment of fury, not that it was premeditated, right?

Forgot that part.

Maybe they're going to go with a premeditated theory. In which case, killing her with the oscar of her LUVVA, might be a nice touch.
And it took him manhandling Veronica to creep you out?
Heh. I meant as Liam Fitzpatrick. Ed Jerse, I found plenty creepy, but in the interest of full disclosure, I also found Rodney Rowland insanely hot in that episode in that unsettling bad boy way (I know, I know, I'm not proud of myself) that I was all, "Friggin' Patridge Family! I call justifiable homicide!"
Johnny Mathis in HOME
Great. "Wonderful, wonderful" is going to be stuck in my head all day. With the added bonus of Ma Peacock's voice.
