I rewatched "Ahoy, Mateys!" tonight. I forgot how good it was. And I didn't realize until this viewing how many later plot points were set-up in this episode, cuz I forgot so much of this episode by the time "Rashard and Wallace Go to White Castle" aired.
I also didn't realize that both Ryan (Marcos' pseudo-ex-boyfriend) and Roxy (Ryan's sister) appeared in the episode before the last few scenes. Ryan was the guy who told Veronica that no one really knew much about Marcos when she asked the class questions with little response. Roxy was one of the girls talked about on the radio show, and she was panned over for a few second while Veronica was listening to the recording.

In a similar vein, if I was a pizza boy and 4 of them had been mugged in recent memory, I sure as hell wouldn't be jamming to my iPod. I'd be learning how to hold the pizzas in one hand and mace or at least a big stick in the other.
Of course, that could just be chalked up to run-of-the-mill stupidity.
