Even then, all testing does is prove he either definitely isn't, or he could be, along with all others of his blood type, the baby's dad.
DNA testing these days can prove he's the father, with a very small margin of error. I don't think there would be much question about his getting custody, and I think they could make a pretty good case for the abuse. First, they could swear Meg told them about it and said the stuff she had written was about her family. Second, the sheriff saw evidence of abuse. Third, any allegation of abuse would cause the sister to be questioned.
t will be interesting to see Keith try to come to terms with who it is that Veronica is. Surely, this can't be a huge shock (also, how stupid do you have to be to keep diapers in the house?).
I thought the hole punched through to the other apartment, and Keith had to reach in to get them.

DNA testing does take time, the backlog is terrible, especially for low-priority testing.
I'm of the opinion that Meg's parents took charge of the baby and didn't list Duncan. The lack of funeral talk indicates time passage. The talk of courts indicates Duncan has asked the courts to rule that he is the father. It also took time for them to set up the whole escape plan, so therefore this is not happening immediately after the birth.
The real question is, why is Daddy Kane over on another channel macking on the president, instead of standing up for his newly-fugitive kid? Even if he personally is in the middle of a "I fled the jurisdiction so as not to spend a weekend in the county jail" type of situation, surely there are lawyers, guns and money at his disposal, you know?
For that matter, Logan could probably direct him to a good lawyer, and if the boys would only move into a normal person's apartment then they could afford to pay him/her. And Weevil could supply the guns. Everybody wins!!
As to the sheriff not noticing the weight? I own a cop car. the suspension is very stiff, and the weight of Duncan would hardly be a blip.
Even if it did depress the back of the car half an inch, most people wouldn't notice. Last week I realized I had three 40-pound bags of rock salt in my squad car's back seat for over a month.
I'm more curious about all that water Duncan drank. I'm assuming he took his
pee bottle
with him when he snuck out of the trunk.
The Weevil/Logan scenes were the best ones this episode. They need a good road trip. Maybe sharing one motorcycle.
I had another thought. Keith's line at the end about not being able to trust Veronica again - I think that echoes the way I feel about the show now a little bit. If as viewers we don't even know where the truth ended and the scam began, how can we take anything else that they show us at face value. Alias pulls this stunt all the time, and it bugs me there too.
That was my favorite part, too. The overall episode seemed contrived and a bit muddled to me, though.
Yeah, I'm getting that. The scenes with the google search and the tatoo-- those were so ridiculous I thought they had to be jokes.
I am pleased they wrapped up at least one storyline, however brutally forced. I liked that Duncan told Veronica he loved her, and I think she never returned the sentiment, did she?
And I still love me some Lamb.

As a show newbie, all I can say is, "MEEP."
I'm going to weigh in on the 'Custody issue erks' as well. Getting a lawyer and starting the ball rolling should have been an automatic first step as soon as Meg died. He absolutely could have gotten the money from somewhere. There's no indication that there's any physical abuse going on at Meg's folks, just mental, so the baby is safe for the time being.
If there had already been a court battle, and Duncan had lost, not only would the whole plot have made more sense, but so would the baby's apparent age.
Finally, Veronica also said that Celeste was opposed to Duncan 'adopting'. Since when do you adopt your own kids?
Logan:
Really? You always come.
