Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Aside from the fact that the washed-up 80s actor factor is too obvious.

Hey, it worked last season.

Our wings are not tired.

and please recall that KENDALL made the payoff. She was knee deep in Big Dick's affairs from the beginning

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing for poor Beaver.

What is even happening?

She's blackmailing him?

Possible. Although she comes across as too self-absorbed and vapid to me to be a successful blackmailer.

It could explain why she gets priviledges and Little Brother is given the hairy eyeball for spilling water on the rug, though.

I think it's more likely she's got some big ass trust fund (she was at private school previously, I think) from a grandmother or something, than that she's blackmailing him. Gia doesn't seem to have the teeth for blackmail, or at least, we haven't seen her teeth, yet.

Was it the payoff, or was she bringing the Auditor paperwork, or what? It would be interesting to see Kendall play the villain. Personality wise, I haven't seen it, yet.

She and Trina seemed to have a large hate-on going, considering they'd just met. Now, I know RT probably wanted to let Alyson and Charisma play. But their bitchery sounded more like bitchery of people who already know and have contempt for one another, than instant bitchery.

Visilurking

Maybe Gia's the killer. There's something really off about her. The motive may have something to do with the Cassavetes, or more specifically, Dick.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Possible. Although she comes across as too self-absorbed and vapid to me to be a successful blackmailer.

She did manage to come up and execute a somewhat complicated plan just to humiliate Veronica, so I think she is quite capable of a blackmail scheme.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

that was Jackie, not Gia.

Oops. Nevermind.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.

I'm just coming up short on motive. Why would he want her dead?

Good question, and alas, I don't have a good answer. (And of course, I don't expect to have a complete picture only eight episodes in.) All we know is that there's something wrong in that dynamic, but we haven't been given any insight into it. Just glimpses -- we know she was away, we know she's a partier, and we know she likes, err, Dick.

That being said, it could have been someone else and meant as a message: Jackie's father, for example, seemed to resent Woody's hold on him. But that doesn't feel right. We've sen his gambling debts come up twice, and have yet to get a picture of their significance.

I wanted to say, Why would he kill a bus full of kids just to off his daughter, but I guess that's the thing with hard-hearted killers -- to deflect attention, you would, conceivably, go with the method that doesn't lead back to you very obviously.

All true. Which gives means and opportunity, but again, no clear motive. There's something we're not seeing, and I'll bet good money it's tied into real estate and property values.

Maybe Gia's the killer. There's something really off about her. The motive may have something to do with the Cassavetes, or more specifically, Dick.

Maybe, but she had no way to know she WOULDN'T be on that bus.

So the question remains, even before who the killer is, is who was the intended victim. Our choices are:

  • Veronica
  • Gia
  • Meg
  • Duncan
  • Logan
  • Dick and/or Beaver

I've gone into Gia, and while it's an incomplete picture, it's where my gut lies. Meg doesn't seem quite right, although there may well be a tie to her pregnancy and the mystery letter -- someone didn't want the pregnancy to be revealed?

Veronica's got Aaron Echols, of course, but that would be getting a little into "I'll get you, my pretty" territory. Logan? Logan was supposed to be on the bus, but he's already being framed for murder. The real murderer wanting to get rid of him? I'd put that in the possibility category.

Duncan? Nah. Not seeing it. I can see a lot of reasons why someone would want him dead -- really, the argyle alone is reason -- I think we'd have more.

Dick and-or Beaver? That one's got possibilities. I can think of all sorts of reasons Kendall would want them out of the way, in which case, my fear for Beaver continues. Especially now that he has a love interest -- that may well make him a marked man.
