OK, we need a bullshit concensus in-thread re. spoiler-fonting the alternative ending. I say we don't, because it's a one-time ratings gimmick and in-thread WF-ing annoys me, but I am not wedded to my position or anything.
Wash ,'Our Mrs. Reynolds'
Veronica Mars: Annoy, Tiny Blonde One. Annoy Like the Wind.
[NAFDA] Spoiler Policy: Seasons 1-3 and the movie are fair game. Spoiler font two weeks for new content presented all at once (e.g. Season 4 on Hulu is fair game as of Aug. 9, 2019). New content presented as weekly episodes may be discussed with no restrictions as it is released.
I'll agree that everyone's probably (?) had a chance to see the alternate ending by now, and we could stop white fonting. Just my two cents, of course.
I'm still aheming the episode, myself, so I shouldn't be here anyway...
I've read that the alternative ending has no bearing on the plot lines. It was just a publicity stunt.
Is this official or rumor? Cause if the former, that hoovers mightily.
Ellen, can I send you tapes of Slings and Arrows? I need a good home for them in Somerville for an airing there. It's the Canadian miniseries starring Paul Gross. It's great.
David! That sounds so awesome! Connie/Theo's probably your woman for this, since anything sent to my apartment will probably join my passport, favorite tank top, and credit card on whatever thrilling adventure they are off having without me.
Maybe it's not Meg's first pregnancy, and that's why she's showing so much. I'm trying to remember Meg-details from the purity test episode.
You know why I think the alt ending was worth it? That cut to the shot with the pillow on Meg's face. Cree.pee.

Ergo my speculation that Meg would be the one to bite it. They could just announce that Meg died instead of showing it on screen, and Veronica, knowing what she knows about the pregnancy and Meg's creepy parents, would investigate for possible foul play.
They need to de-murky Duncan's character pronto, because I have no idea WTF is going on with him. Did he sleep with Kendall? Didn't he? Even the explicitly Duncan-POV weird-ass dream sequence from last week didn't do much to illuminate the character for me. He's still hung up on Meg and has v. mixed feelings about Veronica and there's this Madonna/Whore complex going on, but why? I can't reason out what makes him tick. We've been *told* that he's conflicted through the dream sequence, but I need to see more conflict in his face, in his attitudes, in the everyday interaction with Veronica.

Looking at the AOL site, I can believe this. It says to tune in next week to see which ending "won". But that could just be a short ad with the vote totals. It doesn't mean that if the alt ending wins, that it becomes canon.
If so, I'm actually relieved. I don't like the idea of the audience deciding what happens. I'd much rather see what the creators come up with.
I just don't understand the reasoning behind taking the one truly good person in Neptune High and turning her into an obnoxious bitca with crazy parents and a secret love child.
Maybe Jackie will be the one to bite it, since we haven't seen her in an episode since Wallace left anyway, she certainly won't be missed. And it will free up a regular cast slot for Mac.
What?
Oh, and a belated whoo and hoo to P-C for the shoutout last week.
I'm trying to remember Meg-details from the purity test episode.
IIRC, someone faked it to make her look like a *big time slut* and it wasn't true.
I said something similar earlier, but I've been trying to identify exactly why this Meg storyline bugs me so much. I guess it is because, for me, VM is written to be improbable but not impossible. It's not Buffy, where anything could happen. VM does stuff most high schoolers don't, but it's at least possible that she could. But to me, this Meg-line just seems over-the-top unbelievable and not at all fitting with Meg from last season.
(This is mostly in reference the mother-murdering-daughter extra scene.)
I don't think they turned Meg into a bitch. She was lashing out at Veronica because she was hurt that Duncan had left her and taken up with Veronica, and heck, Veronica had trouble dealing with Meg too when Meg dated Duncan months after he left Veronica.
