When you'd rather watch a movie you know by heart, that's pretty boring sex.
But! It's the Dude! From where I stand, the sex would have to be pretty spectacular to top The Big Lebowski.
Or possibly that's a really sad commentary on my sex life. Err, carry on.
I think Veronica's back with Duncan because he's the normal she wants to get back to more than because he's hot in the sack.
Everyone has their dirty little secrets, their closet full of composition books.
This explanation sits better with me. I think I may have just jumped straight to 'woobie!' from too much lj osmosis.
I actually thought she was interested in Duncan because he's former forbidden fruit. They were something out of a Hemingway novel for a whole year and now that barriers were removed, they got together and things are a bit more flat than their fantasies.
I kind of don't want Veronica paired up with anyone for awhile. I see her dating an older man. Maybe a college guy.
I see her dating an older man.
this just reminded me of the totally hot Lamb/Veronica fic i read. so wrong, but oh so right.
I don't think Lamb has been woobiefied. he didn't say that his father had beat him, he said "i heard my father give that exact same speech once". Mr. Manning had been ranting that Lamb couldn't come in there snooping. that he was the victim. etcetcetc. doesn't necessarily mean that he was a child abuser. though i admit that i will be surprised if they don't go the Lamb=child of abuse route.
am i alone in having issues with the word woobie? for some reason it always makes me think the person calling the character a woobie is finding fault with how the character is being written. probably just my issue.

Isn't that what the term is supposed to mean? I don't happen to think the term applies to Lamb, but I think it certainly applied to Spike. And most egregiously...Angelus.
Isn't that what the term is supposed to mean?
possibly. it just seems to have such a negative connotation.
for the record, i don't think Lamb's a woobie either. i would argue that Logan isn't, as well. no person is either all good or all evil. we all have shades of grey(hi Cindy!) and i love when the writers make me love a character i once hated by showing another side to them.
Joss did it to me many times. Wesley and Faith just to name a few.
well, I think that it is difficult to introduce a dark character, make them a comic foil for awhile and never get back to true darkness. Showing shades of a character is completely different than fucking them up entirely and making the character completely different.
Cordelia once she came back from ascension never did have her snappy comebacks anymore. She wasn't very close to the character I enjoyed even after the growth she displayed through Buffy and post-vision Angel.
The wanting-to-pay-attention-to-the-movie is a bad sign, I think.
Yo-man. When you'd rather watch a movie you know by heart, that's pretty boring sex.
But! It's the Dude! From where I stand, the sex would have to be pretty spectacular to top The Big Lebowski.
I was just going to say but...but...but it's The Big Lebowski aka "the movie that gets funnier the more times you see it".
Or possibly that's a really sad commentary on my sex life.
Sadly this is probably true in my case.
Err, carry on.
Also, what Vonnie said here.
totally agreed on Cordy. i had quite a few snarky lj icons when all the ascension crap was going on. they fucked up with Xander too. in a totally different way.
Logan and Lamb? i guess we'll just have to wait and see how they play out.
