Guy #1: Man, there are so many hipsters around. I hate hipsters! Guy #2: You're at the wrong place. That's like going to Vegas only to say "I hate titties!" --The Warsaw, Williamsburg (OINY)

God, loved, loved, LOVED this episode!! Also? I was soooo feelin' the LoVe - "at least I got to enjoy asking you to help me" (/para) was so fucking cute I could not even stand it. Woobie! Last night I was making an ass out of myself singing "I love Lo-gan!" to the tune of "I Want Candy". His put-down of Kendall was just excellent in every way, and at the very end he even threw her a bone (heh) by being nice. Having Logan staying in the hotel room is just awkward-gold!

About the A-plot - it was pretty good too, Lamb being a woobie was excellent (if not entirely unexpected) but I was too busy squeeing like a ridiculous fangirl over Logan (and Logan & Veronica) to really focus on it. Did like Duncan and Kendall's maybe-liasion, and Duncan in the black turtleneck was a pleasantly hot surprise.

One thing I did notice - when Duncan was retrieving Meg's evidence of Grace's abuse from the vent - was I having deja vu all over again or was the dialog between him and V exactly the same as last season when V was retrieving Lilly's tapes? For a minute I thought I had gone craxy. Maybe someone who's just watched all of last year in a marathon could tell me. (Speaking of which, must. get. DVD's!)

Well, it just so happens that I was just looking at some transcripts from season 1... lemme check.

That wasn't the same dialog from the scene where she gets the tapes from Lilly's vent:

VERONICA: He wasn't in Mexico the day she was killed. Dick and Beaver lied for him. He came back early because he found out Lilly was seeing someone, Weevil, I think and he admitted that much, but he said he wrote her a letter on the day she died that would prove his innocence. I remembered Lilly used to hide things in her air vents.

Duncan, shocked by what he is hearing, gazes up at the vent.

DUNCAN: Let's see what's in there.

Veronica returns to the vent and completes removal of the grate. She reaches in.

DUNCAN: Well?

She holds out three tapes.

VERONICA: There's just these.

She hands them to Duncan who studies them as Veronica replaces the grate.

DUNCAN: I've got a camera we can play 'em on.

They leave Lilly's room and a shadow moves in the closet.

But in this week's ep Duncan does say that Lilly learned the vent thing from Logan and that confirms what Logan told Veronica in A Trip to the Dentist:

Logan gives her a quick kiss and rolls off the bed. He gets a small screwdriver from a drawer and proceed to unscrew a small vent from the wall. Veronica recognises something.

VERONICA: You learned that from Lilly.

LOGAN: No, Lilly learned that from me.

Mmmm. Transcripts.

Ah, you're right. But what did LILLY say in the flashback Veronica had that reminded her of the secret storage place? Maybe that's the one I was thinking of.

Our wings are not tired.

Finally watched last night and enjoyed. Also enjoyed

Oh you kids today with your instant gratification needs!
In my day, we had to walk through the snow, uphill, bearfoot, to find out the answers to hanging plot threads.

So much I ask permission to grab bearfoot and tag.

I have no other comments that haven't been made. At the moment. Need coffee.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The really hard part was separating bears from their feet.

Rabbit feet were too small.

But luckier than dealing with an angry bear with prosthetic claws.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I ask permission to grab bearfoot and tag.

So my misspelling can live on and multiply? Sure, what the hey.

Yay!

Our wings are not tired.

So what else did Duncan snag from the vent?

I enjoyed the episode. There was one element that I prefer in this show over last week's Lost. Although I immediately assumed that Grace was the victim the show gave me lots of viable alternatives. Last week on Lost I was annoyed because it was so stupid obvious that Shannon was going to die. I love all the dangling plot threads. You got yer resolved plot and you got yer added to the pile of unresolved plots.

Loved the Duncan/Kendall scene. Hee. That could be because I love her character. She even infused some chemistry in Duncan.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

side comment to aerto -- my comment about Hitler being a vegetarian was entirely to your point, that vegetarianism Veronica Mars -watching isn't impugned by one of its fans being HitlerMallard Fillmore. Besides to me, MF's humor is far more striking

Somewhat On Topic Comment: I don't have a good take on Veronica's political orientation. Keith is surely liberal-for-law-enforcement, Duncan could be Young Republican material, Logan is going to be extremely right-wing, left-wing, or Libertarian....

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I think, were Logan to live to be 30, he would have had 12 chances to vote (not counting primaries or special elections) and would have voted exactly 0 times. Civic participation -- probably not his bag.

Is it bad that Duncan the Young Republican is also the least knowable character? Like, Logan, you pretty much know about the vice. Weevil, quantifiable lawlessness. Duncan? When Aaron Echolls tried to act like Duncan might be the killer after all, I kinda sorta half-believed him, but wasn't sure. We're deliberately left out of the decision he made about Kendall in the same way -- he could be a shmuck or he could be a hero and we wouldn't be able to tell.
