See, in my fantasy, when I'm kissing you... you're kissing me. It's okay. I can wait.

What is even happening?

Not that I don't agree with Angry Lady, but she seems to also be shopping for chi chi shoes.

Not that she's the Sec'y of State or anything, but, you know, if she's that mad and with that much disposable income, maybe she can be doing something better with her time as well.

Don't mind me, I'll just stand here with my hopelessly outdated class rage issues.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

I like the idea of planning and implementing a New New Orleans city plan. Like Galveston in 1901, you can sit down and pre-install everything you think you'll need, instead of having to retrofit. And, it's not like people will say, "But, but, how likely is a flood, really?" I mean, if they have any shame, they won't.

I have always been a big proponent of the "well, that was a fuckup, but aren't you glad we learned better for next time!" perspective.

As much as I laughed/groaned at the ridiculous security measures in Boston during the DNC in 2004, at least nothing happened. If something had happened, maybe the internal command structure of the city would have fallen apart (though I doubt it, knowing one woman who works there), but at least there were plans for what to do if something did happen.

Oddly enough, my current business either does not have a disaster plan or does not need peons like me to know it. I have three ways to get out of my building (via different staircases), and that is it. After I leave the property, I and all my paperwork are on my own.

hip deep in pie

Despite all the looting hysteria, there are generous people out there:

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

New Orleaner and Meaner.

It's true, anyway...

I do feel that a major government leader should not be seen in the middle of the workday shopping for shoes, even at Payless.

Of course, I'm also reminded of right after 9/11 when we were all wandering around trying to decide if it was horribly shallow or Helping The Economy if we got a pedicure.

What's fucked up about the far-away people offering housing, though, is apparently if you're too far away from the disaster, you might lose out on available aid later. Also, they are wary of people spreading diseases around. This is what I learned on Good Morning America.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I do feel that a major government leader should not be seen in the middle of the workday shopping for shoes, even at Payless.

I definitely agree.

You should totally have an intern do it. (and I'm only kinda kidding.)
