On my seventh birthday, I wanted a toy fire truck, and I didn't get it, and you were real nice about it, and then the house next door burnt down, and then real firetrucks came, and for years I thought you set the fire for me. And if you did, you can tell me!

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Hmmmm, if only there were a destination that met both of your needs and also had a world-famous zoo and wild animal park... Shame that I can't think of one.

Hee. Yeah, it's a puzzler. Unfortunately, I think that 'In Australia' is a criterion we can both agree upon.

But the overseas holiday under discussion may well include San Diego and its world-famous animal repositories. No promises.

See, she doesn't like cold weather, but I don't like hot, humid weather.

Jerusalem! It even has a biblical zoo!

she thinks the world of me, not sure why

Hey, well, *I* think the world of you (and from across quite a lot of ocean, so the word "world" there means something), so I pretty much knows why.

I always find it almost miraculous that if person A thinks the world of person B, person B may happen to feel similarly back towards person A. It's like, if I think this person is the most wonderful I've ever met, why on earth would he think anything even close to that on silly little me? And yet, it works every time (well, not for me, not yet anyway. In the world, in general).

Yeah, this has caught my attention more than once. Well, it's well known that love may be unrequited, but it's the requiting that feels particularly unexpected.

Frankly, I've never fallen in love (well, yet), or the other way around (for the best of my knowledge), for that matters, so all the possibilities involved in this look a bit like magic to me.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

overseas holiday
My offer stands and includes AS.
And yet, it works
I think miraculous is the right word. A beautiful and amazing thing.

In the last eight or so months, I finally met and became good friends with an ex's wife. I suspect I didn't think anyone was good enough for him. They see the world in each other and it just works. They fit.

And yet I have several of your posts on various topics but always this subject marked because you speak so eloquently on it. Maybe because it is magic. Even when it happens.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Anniversary, Jess and DH!

I'll see what I can do on the morrow.

Thanks!

You have posts written by me marked? Um, wow. I - thanks!

various topics but always this subject

What do you mean by that? How silly is it not to understand something you wrote about something I wrote?

Maybe because it is magic. Even when it happens.

I don't know any other way to look at it that makes sense. Then again, until I feel it, I don't really know what it is I'm talking about when I talk about this, so, like parenthood, I'll just have to wait and see how wrong and surprised I turn up to be.

Look at that! I picked an excellent time to drop into Natter. Lots of cool people around.

Nilly, I'm in the unique US environment of being surrounded by people at work who have almost all visited or lived in Israel. I was talking about my cool Israeli friend Nilly, and of course they asked where you live and I felt really stupid about the fact that the most accurate answer I knew to that was to repeat "Israel". Where are you there? Enquiring minds want to know!

Will someone yell at me to go to sleep, since I have to get up earlier than normal tomorrow?
