Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Can you block them all, and then make exceptions for the legit ones?

That requires maintenance still. It's a pretty good chance that no one with a b.org address needs to use that form, since only admins have one, pretty much.

It's the principle of the thing that bugs me.

And I hate the graphic boxes, not least of all because one time in four I get them wrong myself. And I'm supposed to have good eyes.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

It's the principle of the thing that bugs me.

On the other hand, it would give you the opportunity to pop up a page that says "Get a life" whenever someone attempts to use a b.org address on the form.

What is even happening?

On the other hand, it would give you the opportunity to pop up a page that says "Get a life" whenever someone attempts to use a b.org address on the form.
Yes! Or, "You have just generated an automatic abuse report to your ISP."

Or both.

I completely understand the objection-in-principle, though.

Sean K "Buffistechnology 2: You Made Her So She Growls?" Oct 16, 2005 11:34:09 am PDT

Sean K says that he's (she's?) used to being able to tab from this textarea, have the "Post message" button highlighted and then press the Enter key to post a message. This tab order apparently differs from browser to browser.

One quick and easy way to force this behavior cross-browser is to use the tabindex attribute. You'd need to set the tabindex="1" in the "content" textarea:

<textarea name="content" rows="10" cols="40" class="formpost" wrap="virtual" tabindex="1"></textarea>

and tabindex="2" in the "Post message" button:

<p><input name="addpost" value="[post]" src="showthread.php_files/btn_post.gif" border="0" height="25" type="image" width="155" tabindex="2"></p>

Incidentally, there are two controls named "addpost": the Post message button and a hidden field. I've tested the above in Windows XP, IE and Firefox and it works.

hey, stompies, I sent an email to dcistas@buffistas.org, and it didn't seem to go to anyone (including me), nor did it bounce back to me. What gives! :)

Who's Red Emma 78? Her and meara are listed as admins. Maybe we should also set up a default stompy admin address on each list, but as things stand, Scola might be able to do some back end jiggery, but the rest of us have no powers above mere mortal with regards to the lists.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

ita, Red Emma 78 is Lyra Jane.

that's Lyra Jane, who I haven't seen in a while.

Actually, I seem to recall her suggesting that someone else take her place, because she wasn't around the board very much.

I'm an admin, but I don't actually know how to....administrate any of it.
