Can you see this link, Cindy? And this?Yes and yes.
Do you have problems, concerns, or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.
I got no suggestions, really. Something between the server and you doesn't like the full link. Yet, it's not the domain, nor much of the path.
Could your firewall be as simplistic as blocking a link that has "ad" in the link text?
1. a link
2. an ad
What about a direct link to an image?

Yeah, an ad blocker might just do that.

Nope.
What about a direct link to an image?I'm assuming that was all you put in your post, Dana? If you also included a link, I'm not seeing it.
I have gone directly to images plenty of times before, though.
Above this I have posted the full url for images.apple.com/home/2005/images/ipodnanohand20050907.jpg

I can see it.
Unrelated to Cindy's errant firewall -- there's some design that needs be done.
The request has been made for breadcrumbs to assist with folder navigation. I also think that presenting a folder list at the top of the thread screen (folders at the same level as the thread) will cut down on back and forth.
What thinkest you? And, Jon, how would you present this?
I think this is kind of over now, but for what it's worth, I had the same problem Cindy had with ita's post and could then see all the links you posted in here to test theories. I use IE6.
See? I'm not the only inmate in the asylum.
