Note that I went to a browser where I wasn't logged in and was able to log in and log out.

eta: Internet Explorer for the browser that worked.

I can't log out on Chrome or Safari.

In IE, if you log off, and then you quit all the way out of IE, and then restart it, do you find yourself logged in again?

No. Still logged out.

Chrome on my iPad had me logged out after I'd read the beginning of the conversation here but hadn't tried to log out. And had stopped using the iPad for an hour or so.

If I go into my profile and check No on Remember Me, then I can log out.
