Jon, did you take out the extra space? Because now the deeper folder headers are messed up. I'll tweak that later.
Ooooh,
that's
what the space was doing. I think the answer is to put a space after the subfolder name and not before the word "subfolder", if that makes sense. But I don't have the code in front of me so maybe it's not that easy. And yes, it was me.
I don't like the iteration with no title bar for the subfolders.
I agree.
I also agree that the folder icon could be better. I was in a rush this morning. If anyone has a better folder icon, then gimme a link and I'll swap it in later.
ita -- I promise to check in with you before I make any more changes. The folder icon was such an easy change to make and it was early enough this AM that I didn't think I'd collide with you. Still, I should have asked first.

Doesn't work for my brain, since the folder name has no space appended--and shouldn't. It's just returning a database field and isn't logical. However, checking to see *if* there is a subfolder name before the display and adjusting accordingly is the way I was going to go.
As for the removal of the red bar, it was to address the people who found it too much up there. With the folders, it's too busy for me. I was thinking maybe a maroon underline, or something like that.
This site has lots of free icons. (The folders are under "system icons")
You could try the underline in place of the Discussion Threads bar. The problem with removing the Subfolders bar in any fashion is that then the Site Administration bar looks wrong.
It's interesting that on the icon site, they use a horizontal triangle to deliniate folders: [link] , which would be my first choice.
I like the triangle idea too, Tom. Maybe I'll change it to the board's popular blood-red color?
You could also use [link] instead of a GIF.
