What is even happening?

I love the idea of folders, regardless of whether the VM thread is approved. My lamest of all my lame first world complaints is that sometimes, I find myself control effing for the thread I want to find on the main page.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'd be fine with the community threads on the front page.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Okay, ita, I could go with that.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I am HUGELY behind this whole folder idea, and I like Liese's categories. (But would also be fine with leaving the "Community" threads loose.)

Maybe there could also be an option in the Profile to view the front page by folders or not. (The default being to see the folders, but with the option to just see a long list of threads.)

Ann, that's a ferret.

Is the board getting slow for anyone else?

I even got timed out in the past few minutes.

Hey. New board.

It's indicative of how I see the board, but I'd leave community on the front page.

I agree with this.

I think most people will agree that Buffistas is far more a community than specifically a place to discuss TV or Music or whatever. Our central thread is no longer Buffy or Angel, it's some combination of Natter and Bitches and the other "general discussion" threads. Having the front page make that clear, through the subcategorizing of other threads, is, in my opinion, a fantastic idea. Because it's not obvious right now that when you come to buffistas.org you're invading an already-existing internet community; the first three or four times I found the place, I assumed I was finding a standard Buffy fansite, and was very confused and couldn't find what I was looking for and ran away (finally, I read the FAQ, but that's a story for another time).

I'd like my front page to look something like this:

Natter
Spike's Bitches
F2F
Minearverse
Good Riddance
Unamerican
Buffistechnology
--Subfolders--
Media discussion
Writing and literature

Media and Writing/Literature would be split as Liese said above though, honestly, I don't really know what Sang Sacre is and it might belong in the un-subfoldered section instead. I think Minearverse should be voted on, though I actually think it has elements of both a general thread and a Media thread, so I would be confused even in voting, though I'd probably choose General (there is enough of a Minearverse-only community that posts their general posts there, even if they also post in other threads like Buffy, that I think it's right. Either that, or we need to tell those folks to take it to Natter/Bitches.)

Conclusion: I also like folders.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

The idea that the Buffy & Angel thread would be in a TV folder is troubling to me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Me too, -t. I don't like the folder idea in general though.

Visilurking

From an anti-prolifirationista POV, I think tv foldering might encourage more tv threads, since we might figure, what the heck, it's just another thread in the tv folder. I also, would hate to see Buffy/Angel or Firefly or Minearverse in any tv/media folder.
