I just said that you're pretty. Even when you're covered in...engine grease, you're... No, especially, especially when you're covered in engine grease.

Do you have problems, concerns, or recommendations about the technical side of the Phoenix? Air them here. Compliments also welcome.

I bop to Wittgenstein. -- Nutty

Minor comment on the CSS version: something strange is happening with the lines underneath 'Read New | Message centre | First ...' (and it's not as much fun as them bursting into song). There are two lines where the old board only has one-- not a problem in itself-- but in Firefox they blend together, the lighter and thinner line only showing on the left, while in IE they're two seperate lines.

There are also font-size changes-- in tags as Jon noted above, but also in thread slugs on the front page in such a way that on my screen, many more run into a second line (but I suspect this is a screen-size issue anyway).

Generally, though, it looks good (which is to say, very much like it used to be.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Jon, I cleaned up the spill, and also cleaned up the slug--the NAFDA link had some wobbly stuff in the URL.

We need to work out what you're doing when you create a thread that's different from what, say, DX (you did the last Bitches, right?) does.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I know exactly what the problem is, though I\'m not sure of the \"why\". At work, I\'m going through a proxy server I set up on my personal domain (that\'s the wobbly bit), to get around my employer blocking b.org via websense. What\'s odd, is that I can post just fine. I don\'t understand why creating a thread is different from creating a post in this context.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

DX (you did the last Bitches, right?)

Last Natter, but same dif.

I don't understand why creating a thread is different from creating a post in this context.

It's not exactly like posting, because (I'm assuming) the thread creation code is dealing with more tables than posting does. There are also still some quirks in the tread creation code, like it ignoring the folder combo box on creation but not edit, so it's probably the combination of those quirks plus the proxy environment that make them unmixy things.

Art Crawl!!!

Um, when I got here this morning I discovered that unbeknownst to me, I had blocked David. Could this have been done by the board w/o my knowledge?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Could this have been done by the board w/o my knowledge?

I don't know the code to answer for sure (although I'd be surprised), but I've accidentally blocked people several times because the "block" button is right next to "mark".

Unless you've got some subconscious thing going against Hec. Or the board does. Maybe he's the one who should be worried.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, I don't mark stuff all that often and I'm fairly certain I didn't mark anything yesterday or this morning.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I'd also allow for the possibility of just a random accidental finger twitch/mouse click while you were rolling the mouse pointer across the screen, that just happened to be the block link for David.

I accidentally click links all the time, and have, in fact, accidentally blocked people this way before.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I've done the same thing, quite frequently. The first time it happened I was a bit nonplused, but now I just go back and unblock. No big.
