I've gotten stung by bees a few times.
Worse than that are horsefly bites. Those are horrid and painful and yucky. We saw them a lot at the beach when I was a kid. If we were all playing in the water and one of the cousins yelled "HORSEFLY!!!" we'd all duck under the water and stay until we couldn't hold our breath any longer...or the fly was gone.
I've also been stung by a cannonball jelly fish, they don't hurt a lot but they can still hurt.
Have a pancake.
I cannot read that without hearing it said by a cow creamer.
I got a stupid mosquito (I assume) bite right where my pointer finger meets my hand, and it was super-annoying. I recommend avoiding that.
I'm wishing that I had slept all day. Right now
Spiderman 2
is on. It's atrocious. and I even liked the first one.
All Spiderman2 left me with was a great desire to never see Alfred Molina (is that right?) shirtless.
I seem to have two related superpowers in relation to insects - one useless/harmful one mildly_useful/don't_count_on_it.
I seem to attract mosquitos better than anyone I've ever known. If I go out with friends the bity bugs will ignore everyone else to dive bomb me. (Actually I guess that is useful - just not to me.)
The useful one: bees, wasps, hornets red ants and so forth - the insects with major stings seem to leave me alone. I have never been stung. When I was three there was a field filled with bees near our house. Knowing no better I would run into it, and chase to bees to watch all the pretty patterns they made - until my parents caught me and nearly had a heart attack and explained to me why this was a Very Bad Thing. At 20 I was also on a camping trip where six of us stumbled on a hornets nest. I was the slowest runner of the bunch and still the only one the did not get stung. In general I've had my share of this type of encounter and gotten away scott free. I would never bet on this; I'm pretty sure if I went deliberately provoking sting insects I would regret it sooner rather than later - but in the meantime I can boast of never having been bee/wasp/hornet/ant stung or spider bitten.
Of course the latter is one reason I don't have spider strength...
It's so bad that we can't stop watching it.
I liked
Spiderman 2
better than the first one, but I found some huge flaws in it that stand apart from my lack of affection for the character -- just some admission of the fact that the issues that bother him at the start of the movie are mostly unresolved at the end. I thought that dissatisfying.
It's painfully difficult for me to watch. I liked the first one so much more.
What did you like about the second one?
