Cashmere, I can see why that's your dream house!
Ginger, off to check!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What's the deadline on the cookbook?
Hi, everyone, by the way. I don't think I've posted in a while.
Hmm. I should send my recipe for banana pudding. It's modified from the How to Cook Everything vanilla pudding recipe, and is yummy.
Who do I send it to? And are there formatting requirements? I forgot I knew how to cook until just now...
In other news, tofu slices marinated in soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, garlic, and pepper, then pan-fried, egg-style, taste excellent on wheat bagels.
I've got more slices, using the same marinade, baking. I'm hoping those will be good, too, though I imagine they will be since I liked the marinade.
I think Val originally asked for recipes to be submitted by Sept 12, but earlier is better. Send them to buffistascookbook@gmail.com. Don't worry too much about the formatting - just include whatever info you have (nutrition if you have it, any history you want to share, number of servings, all the usual stuff). If we need more info, you can be sure we'll come knocking.
Oh, and FTR? This is going to be soooo cool.
eta: Ginger, I don't have anything from you. Can you resend?
And, brenda's there to catch all the questions.
Compared to some in this part of town, it's perfectly reasonably priced.
So cheap! I've been angsting (WOE! WOE! Handstapleforehead! WOE!) about the cost of housing in Seattle again, on account of OMFG, TOO MUCH CRAP, NO SPACE monsters eating my BRAIN.
To upgrade both house (900 sqft fixer w/basement) and 'hood to something reasonable (by which I mean, 1200 finished sqft, not a fixer), that's about what we'd have to pay.
I must be kept away from the salary/mortgage calculators. (Hint, the mortgage will always top your salary and make it its bitch with no safeword.)
In my dream, some investor decides to buy all the houses on our block at about Fair Market Value for the sake of knocking down and building zero lot line townhomes. And we, umm, rent or something. I haven't figured that part out yet.
So cheap!I know!
I mistakenly plunked my area into that site. This is so very near me... [link] And yet so far away. Oddly, prices have come down in the last six months.
(Hint, the mortgage will always top your salary and make it its bitch with no safeword.)Sadistic little calculator. The numbers just stop being real.
Heh. There's a one bedroom condo in my building selling for what Cash's house is selling for...I like hers better.
So cheap!
I know! Of course there are larger, nice homes nearby that run into between the 500's and 700's. Closer to the governor's mansion they run into the millions. But this is so close to the main drag of our little incorporated town--walking distance to our library and GRAETERS. Which is why it is near and dear to my heart.
Give us another 5 years in equity and DH a few more raises and we could conceivably buy something very similar to that.
