Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Heather, I think the white suit sounds fine. Just go conservative and put together with all the accesories and I think it'll be great.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm all for dancing, but I don't think much of the clothes of the period. I'll go, but only if Hec agrees to go to a Victorian ball with me sometime (note: I'm not a total bitca; I'll happily settle for the occasional Victorian Mad Scientists or British Empire On Mars ball).

I have so gone to one of your Victorian balls!

One, sure, but I've gone to I can't even remember how many of your mashups and bubblegum outings and miscellaneous 20th-century costume parties. After this, the next time we dress up to go out it has to be dressing up for (a) another planet, (b) the future, or (c) sometime so long ago that there's nobody still alive who can remember everybody dressing that way unironically.

eta: I suppose I could bend the long-ago rule as far as Prohibition USA and Weimar Berlin, but nothing younger. If it's recent enough that my parents can remember it, it's too recent.

Don't get all high-handed with me, Missy. My dance thingies involve actual physical activity instead of contradancing which I don't know how to do.

So while I don't mind the getting dressed up part, I don't know any partner dance moves so it is more stressful than fun for me to do something where I'm trying to do some jitterbug pass or line dance / scottish reel dothingie.

That is not going dancing to me. That is effort and homework.

The last thing we went to you spent the whole time dancing with people you knew from Dickens Faire anyway.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

In the neverending quest to expand people's vocabulary, today I bring you the following phrase: hot spong. Used in the 19th century to refer to the sudden heat following the sun emerging from behind a cloud. I urge everyone today to solicit local opinions on hot spong.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

JZ, someday we should get together, temporarily dump the husbands, and go out and pick up hottie reenactor guys or something. There was this one at the 4th of July thing I went to that I thought of as Hottie McRedcoat--I actually was too shy to talk to him, because I was afraid I'd blurt out something like, "Who knew? Mrs. Bennet and her ditzy younger daughters were right--there is something about a scarlet coat!"

You could learn. I know you could. I have such faith in you!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

hot spong

It sounds somehow... dirty.
