I'm supposed to deliver you to the Master now. There's this whole deal where I get to be immortal. Are you cool with that?

Spike's Bitches 25 to Life

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

So, I talked to the Big!Boss. She is freaking out now and doesn't know what to do. She is mortified that I was told the incorrect information, but doesn't see how she can now offer it to me. She said she'd see what she could do (talk to the lawyers, etc.) and let me know. I also told her I'd think about things tonight.

Her stand that this Can't Be Done might hold more water if it hadn't already Been Done on previous checks. Whatev. Clearly time to start looking, even if not quite time to storm out dramatically.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Oh, yeah. Epic reminded me. Big!Boss is Full Of It.

She is trying to play innocent so that you feel guilty about insisting on your rights, as was offered with the job. Quite convenient that the person responsible for this information is gone.

I highly doubt the information is "incorrect." it has been changed.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

If you had been told when the job was offered - so be it. After useing some sick time - that's changeing the rules. there should be no guilt on vw's part.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Awww, fuck.

There's been a mistake in handling how the summer associates who do pro bono projects at the end of the season are handled in payroll and it's going to come down on my head.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Happy Anniversary, Aimée & MM!

Kristin, I think I can get you a Legoland dragon of your very own. However I don't think I am physically capable of going into a Verizon store to get my new phone replaced with one that actually works so there are no pictures of my dragon wearing reading glasses.

I hate problems that fall on my head. Which reminds me of one I have to deal with now.

Sorry about the smooshed ribs, Epic.

Jessice, those pictures are amazing!

And vw, you deserve so much better.

This.

ION, when I am a rich bestselling novelist (yeah, right), I'm going to have my own physical therapist on staff. I left the house for my appointment today Hating The World. We're talking one big bundle of sore-backed, PMS-y, stressed-out, over-scheduled crankiness.

The only thing PT even mildly improved was the sore back, but now I'm all, "Why was I taking X so personally? And if I can't get everything done, some of it will happen tomorrow. Or next week. Or next time it's cool enough to pick blackberries and slave over a hot stove."

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Now, I want blackberry pancakes.

Maybe that's what I can do with all the blackberries in the fridge if I don't get time to pick another batch to make up enough for the jam recipe!

Anyway, my priorities for the day are:
-Write my page quota
-Work on the two freelance jobs that landed in my lap
-Load & run dishwasher so Annabel will have clean sippy cups
-Vacuum the living room
-Roll trash can to edge of alley so it'll be picked up tomorrow morning

That's all that has to happen. If I manage to make jam, start laundry, and go a few pages over my page quota (which I've been doing the past few days--I've rounded the far turn on my WIP and am trying to kick in afterburners for the homestretch like what's-his-name the horse who won the Preakness & Belmont), that's wonderful, but it's not necessary. Really. Must make myself believe that.
