Spike's Bitches 25 to Life
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Raquel
is an absolutely gorgeous name. It evokes lushness, sensuality, and playfulness. As do the pictures I've seen of you.
It may be a sign of why I'm not married that my first reaction would be to slap a little sensitivity into your beloved other. It's an irrational reaction, I admit, so I hope you'll forgive it, and I promise to be very well behaved if ever in the same room with said beloved other.
That knee jerk reaction on my part disposed of, I'll just say that your chosen name should reflect what you think of yourself, not what anybody else does.
Oh, Hil, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope your friend is safe and send ~ma to you both.
I'm really, really sorry. I feel terrible for having said all this in a way that made you feel defensive and angry and protective about your love for Tom. That was a shitty, un-friendful thing to do. I'll go back and delete everything if you want -- just say the word.
It's OK, JZ. It was a valid point to bring to the discussion at hand. I tend toward the over-defensive where Tom is concerned. You're totally not shitty or un-friendful.
ION, I went to a protest march-type thing, about 100 of us marched to Gov't Center with petitions calling for our senators to not allow a judge that will overturn Roe go to the Supreme Court. [link]
It was cool. Nice day out, too.
I'm so pissed right now I almost can't see straight.
I'm pretty sure I posted before about the Florida State quarterback who was recently diagnosised with Lyme Disease. Maybe I didn't, anyway he had been acting irratic for awhile. There was speculation of drug abuse, etc. Most people I've spoken to are glad he has a treatable illness and have acted with respect.
And then today the paper printed an editorial from some sports writer in Orlando. Here's the article [link]
This is the part that pissed me off so bad:
The Sexton family said in a statement on Saturday, "It has also been hurtful to Wyatt and our family to see media reports that were simply not true."
A few weeks ago, I wrote that it would be better if Sexton had a drug problem rather than an incurable but treatable mental condition, such as being bipolar.
I'm not sure if she's talking about the stigma of one over the other. Or if she means that it's better to be addicted to drugs than have a treatable illness.
To make matters more insulting she later says:
Sexton's absence doesn't hurt the 'Noles' quest for a national championship. There were always concerns about his ability as a starter, and now those are transported to Weatherford and Lee.
The smartest thing for Sexton might be to never come back to Tallahassee. It's not like he had built some great legacy at FSU.
Am I wrong to be irrate? I am possibly reading this the wrong way?
I have written an email to her but I want to hold off on sending it until I'm calmer. I think it's rather restrained, but I would want a second opinion on it.
You are not wrong. She's absolutely ass-headed and spreading her ill informed opinion with the nonchalance of a seasoned expert.
Do wait till you're calmer to send the email off, but if it still reflects your opinion then, I'd send it off.
I'm demonstrably contentious this morning, however, so I may not be the best gauge to go by...
Since addiction is a lifelong illness, that affects both the psyche and the body, she's talking out her, shall we say, ass.
Rough draft of paper 2 is written. Granted, it's crap, but it's written.
I went and read the whole article, askye, and I'm still not sure what she means. I don't follow college football at all, there may be subtleties that escape me, but she seems to be spouting off on subjects she doesn't understand.
For one thing, she seems to think that a drug problem is curable.
I am sad. I got my boots, and they are too small. I would get the next size up but I think my calves would still be too fat for them. When will I learn that "big and roomy" for most people equals "pitifully small and tight" on my body?
Rough draft of paper 2 is written. Granted, it's crap, but it's written.
Now you can revise and make it sparkle. Also you should title it: The Jammy Todger (Or, Fay Said A Mouthful).
