I just saw that list yesterday. Given that the person writing the blurbs is clearly unfamiliar with many of the shows he's describing, I think that this
Based on years of sci fi viewing experience and through a variety of online sources,
means he listed the shows he'd seen, and then filled out the list by Googling "sci-fi television" and assigning numbers pretty much at random. Which is kind of brilliant, because for minimal work that piece will get thousands of pageviews.
We should petition the courts for a recount.
For the blurb on Batman, they don't mention Christian Bale. Tsk, tsk.
Which was the Wonderfalls episode Tim said should hook us? Was it Muffin Buffalo, perhaps?
If it wasn't the pilot, there was a miscalculation.
At some point, he said that there was a particular post-pilot episode that should make us fall in love with the character.
Or maybe I need to lay off the drugs.
Pink Flamingos was the one that got me. I was iffy before.
The pilot's teaser did the trick for me, but I think it was "Pink Flamingos" that was discussed as a gateway episode.
I think I loved
Wonderfalls
more immediately than I've ever loved anything else, except possibly
Freaks and Geeks.
I'd say Buffy, but I didn't expect to love Buffy. I expected to mock Buffy, and was in denial about my love for a little while, so I can't accurately determine when it began.
