[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

What is even happening?

Kristen, now that the full seven seasons are out on DVD, you have to add rules for each time Buffy says, "It's different; he has a soul, now."

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Polter-Cow - I have to ask, as Internet Sarcasm Detector(tm) isn't working...

Did you really enjoy Doug's commentaries?

Life is eternal, Love is immortal, and death is only an illusion.

Well I would always prefer only one writer. To many cooks in the kitchen, hurts dinner. I love DP. He wrote some of the best Faith scenes ever, including Consequenses.

Then again I would prefer this Spike thing to be given a rest and never see the light of day. I find it funny people saying this thing is deffinate and the ball is now moving. I think people need to slow down and understand talk is talk and there is a difference between talk and filming. Too many are setting themselves up for disappointment if they believe this project is imminent(sp?). I am not in any know, but for someone who is in the industry or know, can Jm even really do a movie if he is signed onto SV for an extended amount of time? I would think SV would want fans to see him as Brianiac and not JM playing Spike playing Brianiac. Does that make a sense that is?

I also think that this fanbase is so scattered and fractured into so many goups, including the crazy ones that I am not sure it could ever support the ratings needed to make it on to tv again. Especailly, not for a just Spike thing. But that's just me. I think maybe strait to video?

As for the whole soul thing, I Love Buffy, but I always found it hard that she so easily accepted this" he has got a soul thing so he is must be good and forgiven", yet turned her back on characters like Faith, Anya and even Giles when they stubbled and had to EARN thier redemption. Sorry for the new rant.

By movie, people mean "TV movie". Which translates to The WB and DVD.

If it'll surface... Joss says 'maybe' (and also that Tim shouldn't join the CIA... He was joking...). Nowt is signed, which means maybe won't happen.

Nowt = nothing. A journo bought up the Spike movie question whilst in Edinburgh interviewing Joss... They had seen Tim's post here. That produced the CIA line.

Thanks.

You learn something new every day. =)

And I do hope the talk remains just that. I pray Tim finds some other incrediable pilot to turn into a series(not on Fox, though third time might be charm for him) and by next year we are anxiously awaiting that and not some" lets watch Angel light and his wonderful soul."

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Did you really enjoy Doug's commentaries?

Heh. Yeah, I really did. They were entertaining, and they made me appreciate the episodes more, which is one thing I really like about some commentaries. Fury's "Helpless" commentary did that too. I never caught the Little Red Hiding Hood stuff before. Plus, he gave a lot of interesting backstory about how that episode came to exist.

I may have to seize the cat.

You know, I think we missed that one.

But you do have a prodigious list, there Kristen. If I can ever drink more than one drink again, I'll have to try it. On further consideration, all of the scenes in The Zeppo where Xander is trying to get someone's attention seem like good indicators for potential drinking games in the early years (thinking especially of the big Buffy/Angel teary eyed "I can't lose you AGAIN!" scene here). Man, do you remember Tim's brilliant work on Buffy Season 3?

As for the whole soul thing, I Love Buffy, but I always found it hard that she so easily accepted this" he has got a soul thing so he is must be good and forgiven", yet turned her back on characters like Faith, Anya and even Giles when they stubbled and had to EARN thier redemption. What I didn't understand was how the shows (yes, both of them) seemed to convey that souled vampires were undoubtedly good by the virtue of their souls alone, yet humans with souls were out there doing evil things every day. I guess we can fanwank that maybe there was still good left in them, or something, but I always just chalk it up to an inconsistency in the mythology.
