I just got an e from the agent i adored.
I'm not math literate enough to understand this, but congratulations on the contract.
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Congrats, Allyson. That is fantastic and I am all excited for you.
Puts money aside to buy Allyson's book
Congrats, Allyson! So exciting! YAY
Congratulations Allyson! I can't wait until it comes out.

Wheeee! Congrats, Allyson!
We're not alone in the love!
No, we are not…except on this board. But that’s okay. I blame not the others here. I blame ABC for being so damn irresponsible w/ “Homefront,” in the first place.
(Thanks, EpicTangent, for the link.)
It's just the premise that gets me. Your brother conveniently designs the prison he subsequently is sent to so in order to "clear" him, you comit a crime and get thrown in the same prison to break him out???
And you know what gets me? What judge or court would order a convicted felon to serve his time in the very prison he designed? Wouldn’t you think that if he designed it, he might know how to escape from it, too?
I also loved Homefront. I didn't watch it all the way through, and I can't remember why. What's that site we pestered about getting Wonderfalls on DVD? Does anyone have a link handy? I think we should let them know we want Homefront, and we should let that Homefront fansite know about the DVD site, too.
Kristen: "IIRC, he wasn’t the engineer on record. His firm had the contract. I don’t remember if he worked on the project or just copied the plans and tattooed them on his body."
Yeah, but…
Even working at the same firm which designed the prison can present a problem. What if he did see and copy the blueprints (which he clearly did)? Factor in his brother being incarcerated at that same prison, as well as his peculiar request to the judge, and…well, if there aren’t any red flags thrown up over this, there should be.
ETA...
What I would buy, is this:
After his brother's incarceration (which he believes to be unjust), he legally changes his last name (to, like, their mother's maiden name, or something really symbolic of his character), finds out who designed the prison, goes to work for them, and so on, and so forth.
That way, if the brothers now have different last names, no one would wonder how they ended up in the same prison (since the court probably wouldn't know of their connection); and how he got ahold of the blueprints (or whatever) would be more calculated, for lack of a better word, than, "Oh, he just happens to work for the same firm."

I've been thinking this very same thing - and been completely unable to remember where it was or succesfully google it.
Anyone? Bueller?
Also Congrats, Allyson!!! Very exciting!!
