Isn't it just? And folks are a lot more mobile now than in 1918. A nasty strain of flu could get around the world twice before becoming symptomatic.
"Too far to walk" gets much shorter in the summertime in Louisiana. Sometimes the driveway is too far.
I actually live in an area where I can walk to a cafe, several clubs and retail shops, but groceries or convenience store stuff, I drive (though I might be able to walk if it weren't so !@^*#$^ hot here.
