Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Well, you start by making cars illegal.

I've been saying this for years. Anyplace too far to walk is too far to go.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

You'll take my car away when you pry my cold dead body out of it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Coincidentally, there is a Homeland Security meeting going on upstairs this very minute. Though i think we are more concerned with poison in the water supply than blowing stuff up.

Apparently, we aren't quite up to the task of informing everyone who neds to know that meetings lik this are scheduled, so maybe I should be more owrried than I am about the state of our water supply. Good thing I live in another parish.

I love reading the old (OLD) letters from family members worried about their kids who headed Out West from Boston... to Worcester.

She would absolutely hate Texas.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

and the continued silence on a projected upcoming flu pandemic is deafening.

Isn't it just? And folks are a lot more mobile now than in 1918. A nasty strain of flu could get around the world twice before becoming symptomatic.

"Too far to walk" gets much shorter in the summertime in Louisiana. Sometimes the driveway is too far.
