Is slightly less than three months on a new job too soon to take a sick day?
Hey, if you're sick, you're sick. And if you're not sick - well, they don't have to know that....

Did you start accruing sick time as soon as you started or was there a waiting period?
Are you sick?
I'm at the almost tail end of a migraine that just won't go all the way away.

It starts accruing right away, but there is a line in the policy about "employees should try not to take sick days for x months". I just can't remember if x is 2,3, or 6.
Feh.
If you're sick, take the sick day, Perkins.

Er, bullshit. Not that it isn't in the policy, but if you're sick, stay home.
t /do as I say, not as I do
Take the sick day.
Take the sick day.
Leave the canoli. No, wait, that's not it...

Um, yeah. Vacation days, okay, but then why not just make those kick in at six months or whatever if it's something you're that worried about. Sick days? Whatev. What are you, six? Your own judgment as to what's best can't be relied upon? If they think their employees are just chomping at the bit to start using their sick time to goof off, they've got bigger problems. If they don't, then why would they treat genuinely sick people like that and make them struggle in to infect everyone else?
Whoa. Rantypants this morning, apparently.
I'm with them -- if you're sick (and you are) take the sick day.
or, as an alternative, go in and throw up on either your boss or the head of HR.
