Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Oh, I forgot, I'll be regrouting the tub on the 4th. BF's parents are coming on Wednesday and we are doing stuff we've put off (grouting, having the very spotty white WtoW carpet cleaned, dusting hard-to-reach spots) because his mom is perfectionist Cleaning Freak and we are using her imminent eagle-eyed arrival as an excuse for late Spring cleaning.

Rum & chilled watermelon too.

Hey maybe that's my solution. Keep the squirrels in my head loopy.

I feel like I'm turning into Eyeore. Someone should just shoot me and turn me into a wallhanging already.

Sarameg, sometimes we all have to indulge our inner Eeyore.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

So what are people doing for the 4th, and why can't I leave now, instead of two plus hours from now?

Huh. So far, my plans involve not going to the office. It's a good plan. Although I'll be in the office tomorrow morning, so maybe I'll leave at a decent hour today...

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I want to do the thing with the champagne.

I'm doing nothing -- no work, no krav, no .. nothing.

Huh.

I wish I could have just stayed home and watched Wimbledon, dammit. That's how my life is supposed to be. Now I have to decide -- check the results, or go home tonight and resume watching at the start of set 3 (Federer/Hewitt)? I almost never watch the game after I know the results but ... I wanna know!

Still kvetching about co-worker. She can see me -- I wonder if me dropping my head into my hands so repeatedly is distracting.

Are you making noises when you do so? Repetative ones? Loudly?

That may be my problem -- my cranky insistence on silence.

I wonder if I can remember how to snort. Or bray, even.

brillig

I'm getting up to watch a hot air balloon launch in the morning, and tomorrow night is the big fireworks show that I can see from my house. Yep, on the 2nd. Probably because righteous people will be going to bed at a normal hour so they can go to work on Tuesday.

The parade is on Monday. I shall sit comfortably in the shade in my front yard, one block off the parade route, and sip a cool beverage as I smile at the folks who are schlepping grumpy children, chairs, coolers, etc. over to the parade and then back again, when people are hot and children are grumpier. Maybe I'll stick caltrops in the driveway.

Lip smacking might work.
