So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Ooo! Your car is all fancy and stuff. (ETA: Lyra's)

Proud owner of a '96 Civic DX HB myself. Electric blue - her name's Illyria.

I'm going to miss driving a Honda, but the modification subculture is so strong around here that you can't get used ones for anything close to reasonable. Which is why we'll probably be able to get a decent amount for our well-loved '98 DX, but also why we had to move to a different automaker.

I took the cow sticker that had been in the Badtzmobile for at least five years off of the dash last night as we left the dealership. Then, on the drive home, we allowed ourselves to get sentimental about old Badtz. (Honeymoon road trip in the car, took baby home from the hospital in the car, blah blah blah in the car.)

If it had four doors, we'd have just sprung the grand to have AC installed. It will be missed.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I use them, t, they're stable.

btw, I've become obsessed with you not being able to drive while wearing a ponytail. I wonder about it all the time. How about a clip? A braid? An up-do?

Open letter to the Kansas school board requesting that, if they teach Intelligent Design, they need to include one more viewpoint....

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I so totally linked to that last week. And nobody noticed...

I noticed. I thought it was funny and a good point.

Yet I sat by and said nothing! How will the Jessicas of the world know that their linkage is appreciated when the good people of b.org stand silent?

::hangs head in shame::

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I noticed, and read it, and laughed.

Seriously? I don't remember that at all!

Geez, I *do* suck....

Okay, then, how about this: From Bookslut -- a review of Henry C. Smith's book "Understanding the Cultural War in America":

Liberals are inevitably handing the victory to the conservatives by "eliminating" their offspring through abortion, a Christian author from the United States claimed today.

Smith's "Understanding the Cultural War in America" is published by — just wait for it — PublishAmerica (which has previously tackled the abortion debate with the groundbreaking Don't Throw It Away!: A Graphic Statement Against the Practice of Abortion in the Form of Christian Fiction, available also as an e-card).

"While the humanists are busy killing off their own offspring, they are really helping us. I am not saying we should approve of abortion for that reason," Smith says. "It is clearly a wicked act, one which, from God's perspective, is worthy of death. But we must not overlook the fact that those who commit this horrible act are nevertheless doing us a favor. By destroying their own offspring, they are killing off a source of future voters, the majority of whom would probably grow up to be just like their parents. Thus, abortion ultimately works to our advantage. It helps cleanse our society of future humanists."

Too little too late, Tommy. I'll be over in this corner, sobbing quietly.

(And by "over in this corner" I mean "heading out," and by "sobbing quietly" I mean "to get some chicken tikka masala for lunch." See what you've driven me to?!?!?!?!?)
