I'm not evil again. Why does everyone think that?

It died in a puff of smoke.

Oh, dear, the magical blue smoke got out. Hard to pull a computer back from the abyss when the magic smoke escapes.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Hard to pull a computer back from the abyss when the magic smoke escapes.

Yeah, totally. Which is why I do all my computer repairs under a lead crystal bell jar.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ack, Fred. Good luck w/ all that.

I am now ready for lunch. It is Not Lunch Time. I apparently didn't have enough breakfast. Hmph.

I have, OTOH, started doing work at work, which is exciting. Also I got offered more hours here, which I can't take. Everybody wants me!

Librarian Warlord

Plei, I just found $255 Mephistos for $89 at a store in NJ that was making room for new stock. Froogle is my friend. The Mephisto store in town doesn't bother to carry my size, but I was able to try one size up.

I'd also be happy to take you to Nordstrom and shout orders when I'm in town. I learned long ago how to order them to bring out everything they have in my size so I can try it all on. I'm great in the shoe department, but invisible at the makeup counters.

Ann, that's a ferret.

we usually had six to twelve cats and kittens at any one time.

Sorry to disappoint, but this will only make 3. Teddy's the 11YO big brother. The new arrivals are Max and Marie, 6YO Himalayans.

With a Buffista F2F connection....

We were looking for a place to board Teddy while we were at the F2F (because the usual sitter couldn't make it). When we checked out the boarding place, we met Max and Marie -- whose humans had abandoned them there. We fell in love with them, but had to wait for a release letter from the previous humans (and we didn't want to be away when the letter came in -- thus, our not being at the F2F). On Sunday evening, we finally got the call that the letter came in.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've heard a crazy story about him going around the clock and not sleeping for days, then getting Bryan Singer to come and direct for a day so he could sleep.

That was an April Fool's joke for kongisking.net.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

HA! Found my chair! Oh, sweet chair, you fit the small of my back so well. Let's never be parted again.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So there's a person I know who wrote in her lj that she didn't do anything for Father's Day because she makes sure she tells people how much she appreciates them all the time and doesn't need a madeup holiday to tell her to. Which was followed by a whole lot of comments telling her a) it wasn't about her, b) that the commenter (not her father) was disappointed not to get father's day wishes from his/her child, and c) wishing the ljer's father a happy father's day.

Now, these are family friends, so there may be banter I'm not seeing. Also, I don't know whether her father cares or not -- if he does, that might have influenced some of the commenters. But honestly, what is up with people feeling they have the right to tell other people what to do within their own family? Not even telling, really, because she made the comment, they're allowed to have opinions -- but scolding and shaming?

Just needed to get that out of my system, as I feel it would be kind of rude to go reply to the commenters with "nose, in business, other people's." Plus one of the commenters has historically pissed me off a lot in person as well, so I'm not really objective.

(ETA: I can sort of see how people might be resentful, honestly, if they appreciate the day and she's seeming disdainful of it -- celebrating father's day doesn't mean you don't show your appreciation at other times, of course!)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

It's freaky that if Jackson shaved and got a haircut he would now look like one of my old roomates.
