It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I really like buttermilk pancakes.

I've got a good recipe from that. My erstwhile neighbor used to work at Zazie and nabbed it for me before she left.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So, apparently, have I. It's a little random with the consistency, but as long as I pay attention and don't let them overbrown -- let's just say I'll be buying much more maple syrup next Canada visit.

You crazy, get-up-early-to-fix-breakfast types. FREAKS.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I'm home! Did you miss me?

But I swear I never saw a Tim Horton's in Vancouver.

There is one in the airport, and I know I saw others.

The first time my mother called today, she left a message saying "I hear you guys had an earthquake!"

The second time was to tell me they'd just had one.

If there's an earthquake in South London, I apologise to everyone affected on behalf of my accursed family.

That is freaky, ita.

I have too much stuff waiting for me on my tivo. I think I may be too tired to do the Inside justice right now. What else was good last week/this weekend?

Too funny. I think they felt it more than we did ours.

When I called my mother back the first time, I told her nothing was damaged, but I Was worried about my alcohol -- she sympathised because she'd lost rum in the last earthquake.

My father was all "5.6, that's not much of a quake" and explaining that the big one might be coming and LA would disappear. I pointed out that Jamaica had already lost most of a city to a quake, so he wasn't that safe ... so perhaps it was my fault. I needed to get a seismic "I told you so" leveraged at my father.

I think it was your fault, ita. You should try sacrificing more goats buttermilk pancakes.
