All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My apt came with a window unit in the kitchen which I have never plugged in.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

my house has an airconditioner ( that sends the hot air into the garage) I used it once or twice last summer. It did nothing. way to small for the space. not sure why it is there.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Gosh, I wish I had air-conditioning!

My mom and I are just being nibbled to death by REALLY LARGE DUCKS.

Not onlly did the whole refridgerator/flood thing happen Friday, this morning my car died at Dunkin Donuts! I was supposed to move a load of new boxes, too.

So I have had to ask my mom to pay for it, no matter what and she has said yes, but it was just so awful talking to her on the phone. She is so depressed she said she was hoping the lightenng would hit her as she sat at her computer. I doubt she really means it. but it is just depressing to hear her talk like that and then have to ask her for, like $2000. But otherwise I don't really know what I would do.

To top it all off, I am supposed to go into work today, so I will have to walk and it is sweltering. And I hate the unknown of dropping the car off at the mechanics and not knowing anything until they come in Monday.

And to top more of it off...

I really don't enjoy hearing my downstairs neighbors have sex. Especially after they woke me up at 4 am because they STARTED having a party. At least it seems that their guests have left...

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Theo, if you don't have any air conditioning units, go get yourself one. Home Depot has one as low as $79.00, and a couple in the $120s. I firmly believe people need at least one room in the house that can provide some respite from the heat.

That's where I got mine. Also, I love our new temporary maintenance man. Who showed up at 8:30 this morning, on Sunday, his day off, to install my AC. And completely refused the $10 I tried to give him as a thank you. He also lets the dog play in the water when he's hosing down the front sidewalk. Carlos rocks. The usual guy is ok, but now I wish we could keep Carlos.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I broke down and bought my first air conditioner yesterday. I nice little 5000 BTU Frigidaire at Best Buy for 95 incl. tax. I also may be getting another from friends who just bought a house where they can't really use the AC units they have with their windows (they're looking to getting central at this point).

Temps not that bad yet out in Salem - the thermostat keeps telling me it's 76 in the rest of the apt. Not sure I trust it now, but if it erred over the winter, it was that it felt colder than what it was saying, so who knows. I am near two large bodies of water though (the bay and a river), so that may be part of it.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Erk. The kitchen thermometer says it's 88.6 in here. I've been sitting in the living room under the ceiling fan where it's been pretty comfortable. Thank goodness some AC is in my near future.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have to remember I moved to LA for the average temperature, as well as the highs. Right now, i get jealous of the east coast.

Pancakes and Blue Mountain coffee! I can't work out the keys to texture of this pancake recipe -- yesterday's were very thick, today's more normal. Don't know, but they still taste good.

"You see? THAT's what they want. Love, and a bit with a dog."

My mom offered me an air conditioner yesterday, but I've got a window fan in my room that works just as well for me. She told my brother that he could take his when he moved to Boston and he was all "No, we'll be fine with a fan."

He has since realized what a small second floor apartment in the city can be like and has changed his mind.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

My indoor temp is 79° right now. If I weren't going to be out of town for most of the summer I'd install a ceiling fan in the living room.

There is a kid across the street making me crazy. He is constantly yelling "Mom!" up at his window from in front of the building. I have to keep resisting the urge to go tell him to go upstairs to talk to her and that he needs the exercise anyway. I don't mind kids making noise while they play, but this is just obnoxious.
