I'm gonna sue that woman for harshing my mellow.

Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Fay, considering I just skipped almost 200 posts, so I feel ya! Don't worry about not latching onto all the details. Yup, it's a permanent move rather than a visit.
Lots of ppl here need hugs, tea and sympathy.
Yet, here is me, going on with the memememe news.
Was out and about today, driving around Faribault by myself for the first time. I only got lost twice. The line of work I planned to apply for here prefers a valid Minnesota drivers' license. So before taking my completed application to the office a few blocks away, I drove to the other side of town to trade in my AZ license. No go. Minnesota state government is having a budget-related shut-down. So the examiners who administer the written test are not working.
Figured I'd go put in my application anyway. Walked up to the desk, said, "Hi, I just moved her from Arizona, and I have six years' experience working with Developmentally Disabled adults. Here's my application, which you so kindly mailed to me a few weeks ago in anticipation of my move."
Personnel person said, "When can you start?"
"Tomorrow."
Personnel person had astonished look on her face.
"Well, if you really need me, I could start today."
Personnel person became gleeful. And offered me my choice of shifts. Then asked if I had time in my schedule tomorrow to do pre-employment paperwork. I said my schedule tomorrow involved unpacking, playing with cats, and napping. "If you can fit us in, that would be good." So I smiled, and pulled out my calendar, and pencilled them in.
Yay, Windsparrow! Go you!
Holy crap, Andi, that's awesome!
New baby pics!!
She is just a very pretty girl.
Holy crap, Andi, that's awesome!
I second that emotion.
Yay Windsparrow!
Aimee, she's such a cutie.
I love the bath picture and the Mickey ears! She is so cute.
Someone please tell my neighbors that it is no longer the 4th of July. Fireworks time is over.
Omigod omigod omigod!!! I just got this from the job that I applied for like a jillion years ago. (This was my "tackle the past year in retail head-on in my cover letter" experiment.)
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, we have filled the Marketing/Editorial Coordinator position, yet because your resume was strong we wanted to hold onto it while we finalized the job description for another position. It looks however as that will be more clerical and thus not appropriate to your skills.
Yes, it is still a rejection letter, but A) I hardly even ever get those and when I do, it's usually the briefest possible form letter, and B) HE THINKS I HAVE ACTUAL SKILLS!!!
I know it's all kinds of pathetic that I get excited over this, but it made my day. An employer thinks I'd be worth something! Granted, not enough to hire me, but it's a start!
