Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I called the shelter and Gimlet hasn't had a FeLeu shot...and she's behind on her distemper and rabies.

Great.

Am I crazy? Normal people don't stress out like this, do they? Or do I just need better coping skills, maybe to go back and look at my generalized anxiety disorder worksheets again?

You're not crazy. You probably do need to revisit your worksheet though. Babies make for chaos. Susan loves control. When no control is in sight, stress will occur.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Susan, you're not a bit crazy, you just tend to overreact to unforeseen glitches. You are human being and life is messy, darling--there are ALWAYS going to be unforeseen glitches. You seem to go right to worst case scenario every time something goes wrong, and you don't need to--you are a great mom, you have a nice place to live, a husband who loves you, you are all three healthy--all the important stuff is going smoothly. Your big emotional reactions are not insane, they're just a coping mechanism that doesn't work for you very well and you will need to find a new one, that's all.

Thanks, y'all.

Does anyone know the answer to my question about whether if I accidentally unplug the Tivo or the cable box trying to unplug the TV it'll wreck the programming? I don't want DH to have to come home and reprogram the Tivo; plus, if I get the TV back on but can't access the Tivo'ed stock of Sesame Street and Between the Lions, it kinda defeats the purpose.

I'm thinking of calling my neighbor and asking her if she'll watch Annabel while I shower, and if that doesn't work, doing as Cindy suggested and just putting her in the exersaucer outside the bathroom door with a bunch of toys and letting her yell if it comes to that. And then maybe I'll take her to the mall or something and let her run around in hopes she'll be tired enough to take a long nap this afternoon, because I've got a lot I need to do today.

It doesn't wreck the program. It just reboots TiVo which is often the fix for most TiVo problems.

If I only had a brain...

What David Said. The TiVo stores all its data on the hard drive, which isn't affected by power-off.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have unplugged my cable box and DVR (not Tivo, so I don't know specifically if It's true for Tivo) and had the programming be not affected at all, Susan.

That said, our TV spontaneously decided it hated the remote control and was never speaking to it again a couple years ago. And the power button on the set itself sort of sticks, so sometimes I have to push it several times before (a) it's on or (b) I can tell it's on - sometimes I only know it's been on because it does that shrinking square of light thing when it goes off (the square of light appears only to shrink, it isn't there before). So I vote pushing the button a few more times, as well.
