I don't care if it is an orgy of death, there's still such a thing as a napkin.

Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Ann, that's a ferret.

IIRC, in the U.S. (so your applicable law may differ), Contracts of Adhesion (known in English as take-it-or-leave-it contracts) are usually interpreted more strictly against the person who drafted the contract.

Which would be a point in Fay's favor, if this were happening in the U.S.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Batten down the hatches, Baby.

Bet yer bippy, batten down the hatches.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm eating banana chips right now. That's a healthy snack, right? In spite of the vegetable oil, sugar and honey that are added?

Crap. The people I did the volunteer project for don't know how to convert my Microsoft spreadsheet to excel. I don't have excel, but they should be able to convert the spreadsheet I sent them. Feh.

Herding cats for fun

Ooh! Mobile babies, a whole new level of excitement around the home! Just wait until she starts pulling herself up on the bookshelves and getting into Daddy's precious collectible toys.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Teppy, Owen and I met DH for lunch at Skyline. It was gooooood.

Yum. Suddenly my tuna sandwich is less appealing.

But you see, Tep, I have very little money. And laws are murky things here - basically backhanders are what get you anywhere. Everyone wants their baksheesh.

I can't see myself suing him.

Well, you said you were seeing another lawyer tomorrow, yes? I think you should, at the very least, tell the lawyer that Evil Boss has said that he will not pay you the salary due you for 2 months of work that you already worked (those first 2 months). Cause that ain't right.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

{{Fay}} Evil Boss is an asshat. No getting around it. I wish you could sue the pants off him, but I completely understand about the limitations.

{{Cindy}} I had my wallet stolen a couple of years ago. They charged almost $3000 in 45 minutes. While it's a pain in the ass, the credit card companies were really good and I didn't have to pay a penny of it. Pain in the ass, though, you betchya.

I went to a Civil War reenactment over the weekend. Here are some pictures of me in pretty Victorian clothes. And, the BF. Can I say, he's just hot in 19th C. apparel.

Librarian Warlord

Those are great pictures, ChiKat. I like the yellow ribbon the BF added to his apparel. Did people ask which troops he was supporting all day?

And, if you're in Naperville, is the fingerprint to access the public library computers a big deal there?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

You're both very pretty, Chikat.

I grew up not far from Naperville.

We all had to wear one to show that we were registered. It didn't match my dress, though, so I had it somewhat hidden on my belt. Ah, vanity.

Did people ask which troops he was supporting all day?

No, but they did look at him funny. There aren't many men dressed as civilians at these things and even fewer African American men. There were 2 Union soldiers there as part of one of the black regiments. And, a woman portraying Harriet Tubman was there.

I live in a different Chicago 'burb. My local library (Oak Park) doesn't do that. Does Naperville? That seems strange to me.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Great pictures, ChiKat.

I've decided I just have a normal cold, with added sleep deprivation, since I'm finally getting some more typical cold symptoms. Y'all will be stunned to know I'm being sensible and canceling or rescheduling whatever I can.

I'm also waiting to hear from a writing contest where I know the finalists have been determined and will be announced today. If I were feeling better, I'd pack Annabel up and go to the mall so I wouldn't have to spend the day glaring at the phone and my email inbox.
