Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What a wonderful way to start the day and the thread -- good things for billytea and vw!

But since we actually won money on our short trip to a casino in Laughlin, NV, have $500 to deposit. The craps table was kind to us (and it helps that DH knows the best odds and payouts).

My husband's family are all regular gamblers, and most of them work on the boats near KC. I have recommended the book, Bringing Down the House to my DH, which should be something he'd like (math! non-fiction!) but he won't read it because he doesn't like to hear the odds against winning.

re: Revenge of the Sith.

The PG-13 rating is no joke. If you have young/sensitive kids, try to see it before they do so you know the parts where you might want to take preventative action.

Let's just say that Vader didn't go evil by jaywalking.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

billytea, I am so glad to hear you are doing so well. You had a crapper of a time there for awhile and you deserve so much happiness!

Yay, vw!! Interviewing queen!

connie, without going into detail, was Revenge of the Sith good? I saw Ep. 1 and thought it blew. Didn't even bother seeing Ep. 2. And, if Ep 3 is good and I do go see it, do I need the backstory from Ep 2?

There wasn't much story in Ep2.

Mostly lurking...

Eep.

The school I interviewed at yesterday just called. They'd "like to go ahead with the second step," even though they have another interview scheduled on Friday. So, she wants me to e-mail her my references, and also, we set up a time for me to come hang out/get to meet the kids.

Eep.

Sounds like you're going to get the job.

was Revenge of the Sith good?

It's not subtle, it's not an actor's movie, but it's way, way cool. Seeing everything circle round to the first movies is very satisfying. Musical and visual cues from the first movie crop up all the time; it felt like a pat on the head for having been through the whole series of movies.

I heard people in my theatre mutter "Oh, no" at the one scene where you really realize that Anakin has left the building and Darth Vader is just waiting for his costume change. I'm honestly surprised Lucas went there.

We've known since Ep. 1 where Anakin ends up, but you still get the sense of tragedy.

Now tagless for your comfort.

DH is an actuary. Gambling actuaries are the stuff of comedy gold. But we know we're going to lose in the end. Our goals when we go to a casino are: 1. Lose as slowly as possible 2. Have as much fun as possible 3. Drink the free drinks as long as possible.

Always Anti-fascist!

So glad to hear bt is doing better.(Also, wondering what it would be like to have a Home in that sense, and feeling bad that we never got to meet while sharing a continent, but that is all about me.) And, yeah, since we named our dog Betsy, I've been thinking it might be embarrassing to BHP someday, but we didn't know each other very well when we got our dog, so it took a while. I was really hoping she wouldn't do that while somebody was there, but hey, it is funny.
