Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I love that monkey! He makes his own fun.

Not as much fun as The rocking Ice Chimp.

Does that make him a ninja, or a human?

Monkey Ninja. That's so eighties, though.

Are you ready to be strong?

"That's hilarious! The ice is so slippery, and, and monkeys are all irrational. We have to see this."

This is why you get the Anya Chrismakkuh ornament.

Happy Birthday, That's Emmett's Dad!

(sorry. Have your own day today, and a best day!)

I totally love Hanuman. I mean, he's no Ganesha, but...

(bragging) The year I taught high school English, one of my students gave me a card she'd made that said "You are like Ganesh, because it helps me to think of you before I do anything." I still have it.

Of course, I went and made WWGD? shirts after that.

You know, the terrible thing about that article on zombie dogs? My second thought was "God, this would've really made the Terry Schiavo case ugly." (My first thought was that the editor who chose the accompanying photo must've wet himself.)

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Happy birthday, David!!

move out and draw fire

I know not many folks are online right now, but anyone who's around, tell me to calm down and stop stressing? I'm about to give myself an ulcer over this job thing.

I had the interview I posted in Press about, and it went really well. They were set to put me to work on the spot. But we hadn't discussed salary. So I went and talked to the HR/Finance person. They offered to either bring me on as a federal gov't employee (btw, the job is building databases for the embassy) for Next-to-Nothing, or as an IC, for Undetermined. I chose IC, because while I'll have to pay Social Security twice, and do my own tax withholdings, and all, it keeps me legal with the terms of my LWOP from my company.

Then I found out from him that while they'd talked to my references, they hadn't pulled my gov't file. So my security clearance hasn't been transferred, which may or may not be a big deal. If they insist on getting it from BAE (my actual employer), it could screw with me going back to work at BAE. Maybe.

But what's really bothering me is that it's been two weeks and they haven't called me with an offer. I checked in last week, and that's when I found that they decided they needed to get my gov't employment file. Maybe they are just being slow; more likely the HR guy doesn't want to pay the kind of salary I'm asking for. But I can't ask for any less, or I'll be losing money if I go to work.

The hamster in my brain is totally running around in circles.

If they come through, I can set my own hours, which would be awesome.

Argh.

Now tagless for your comfort.

job-ma, Raquel. I hope they can pull their heads out of their butts and get around to dealing straight with you. The waiting around part sucks.

Happy Birthday Hec, Deb and Nic!!!

What is even happening?

Happy Birthday Hec!
Happy Birthday Deb!
Happy Birthday Nic!

Cashmere, which day was your actual anniversary? I think I missed wishing you happy anniversary (in lj) by a day. I console myself by telling myself you were probably sleeping, anyhow.

Raquel, I woke late, and haven't had enough coffee to comprehend much beyond: everyone having to do with getting you some work sucks, and they should hurry up, give you more money, and not screw up your old job.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Happy birthday, Hec, you old rascal, you.
