My Dad took me to lunch, where we had the following conversation, which is so funny b/c of how we're *both* fishing for compliments:
Me: So, do I look 34?
Dad: Not at all -- you still look in your 20s, early 20s.
Me: You're just saying that because you want to still look like you're in your late 40s.
Dad: ....you mean I *don't*?
(He's 63, and looks very good; not a bit decrepit. But also not 48.)
Happy happy birthday, Steph!
Apparently we sent my mom flowers. I got the thank you e-mail from her before the voice mail from my brother asking if I wanted to contribute. Silly brothers who can't wait for me to call them back! Good thing I was gonna contribute.
Happy Birthday Tep! I hope it's as fabulous as you are.
Happy Teppy Day!
BillyTea is a very date-able man. But now I wonder... the Aussie accent is teh hot to us in the U.S - how does the U.S.-speak sound to Aussies? Are we as boring sounding to you as we are to ourselves?
When I was in high school, the band got to march in the Citrus Bowl parade one year, and we took a side trip to Disneyworld. At one of the rides, my friends and I were in line in front of a group of Aussies, and eventually both groups fell silent because we were so busy trying to listen to each other talk! One of my friends confessed to the Aussies that we
loved
the sound of their accent, and they said they loved ours, too. Of course, we had
very
hillbilly Southern accents, and I think they loved them in the sense of "cute," not "sexy."
It's brightly sunny with a predicted high of 73, the M's have a 1:35 game, and we have tickets! DH has the afternoon off work, and I'm meeting him there. Does life get any better than this?
the M's have a 1:35 game
So maybe, just maybe, the commute home at 6pm won't be completely dreadful thanks to sports fan -traffic?
crosses fingers
That sounds wonderful, Susan.
Oh, I meant to say, very nice profile, Billytea.
That sounds like a great time, Susan.
