Good luck, Lilty!

Now that I have a digital camera, I took all these pictures, and now I have to go through and play with them, and crop them and red-eye them and name them and so on...

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So, um, I think I'm going to try to not smoke tommorrow. Or the day after that. And so on. I have three ciggies left, which I'll smoke tonight, then tommorrow put on one of these patch thingies I've got.

{{Lilty}} Go you, and good luck.

What is even happening?

I realized I hadn't done any laundry since we got back from our trip. The boy is completely out of pajamas and will be sleeping in his shorts and t-shirt He's already more like me than I imagined he'd be. Only I need to hogtie him so I can cut those bangs of his.
Oh, he's so beautiful.

When my kids were about that age, I'd trim their hair while they were in either the bath, or the high chair. It wasn't easy, though. At some point, you're going to want to take him for haircuts, so he'll get used to it. Generally, little girls are better than little boys about haircuts. Per my hairdresser, little boys often cry. Ben did. Chris sat as still as a statue until he was about 2. They couldn't get over it. Then one time it freaked him out--I think maybe it was the electric clippers that bothered him, and it took almost two years to get him over it, because that's how Chris is. Oy.

I finally had to stop taking him to my place, because I wasn't strong enough to hold him still on my lap. Scott took him to the barber. One time, they refused to cut his hair. Chris's reaction was extreme, though. He finally turned the corner when he was about 4. Ben was having his haircut first, so that Chris could get used to it (part of the problem for Chris was that we waited too long between cuts, and it was almost a brand new horror for him, each time), and Chris walked around the barber shop, asking all the men, "Are you gonna get beautiful?" and when they were done, he'd say, "Oh, you're all beautiful, now."

Trust my rage

Timelies, all!

I'm back on the east coast. It's good to be home, even though it was great to see my family and so many friends.

Cindy, I love the haircutting story. I think I have always liked getting my haircut, but as you said, maybe girls are easier than boys. I was always scared of the clippers but since I never needed them, it didn't really upset me.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Phew. Tired, and I can't find my credit card records. This irks me, as I reckon our therapy bills last year were probably enough to claim as a tax deduction.

ION, I saw the first new Doctor Who on the weekend. Enjoyed it immensely. And tomorrow night I'm going to see Katie Melua in concert! I'm rather excited.

Oh, thank you, Cindy! I knew I couldn’t possibly be completely alone.

Good luck, you!

Hey, mebbe I get to one month with no smokey treats and I finally get myself a tiara.

We should go shopping together! I don’t have one either, and I certainly deserve one!

"Are you gonna get beautiful?" and when they were done, he'd say, "Oh, you're all beautiful, now."

That’s just precious!

Hi, billytea! I hate it when I can’t find things after a move. It’s so very frustrating.

So, today I must do laundry so I have something to wear to observing at the school tonight. Then I have observing at the school. I really hope that goes well. If it does, it could mean that I get the job. Wheeee!

The new Dr. Who does indeed rock.
