So sad.

On my way back into my building after walking the dog I ran into a woman who was... what do I say at this point? Homeless? Destitute? I don't know. She was in her twenties and horribly thin and dressed too warmly and saying she had ocd and anorexia and she didn't want money but wanted to call her sister in Connecticut but couldn't touch the phones.

I have a calling card. We went to the phone. I asked her to walk away while I put in my code. She did. I got the machine, she told me to hang up and not leave a ms. I told the sister where she was and that she appeared fine but upset and was trying to reach her. Then I said I had to leave.

Was is a scam? Oh, probably. Or a freaked kid strung out on God knows what. Her sister's probably given up on trying to help her if its even her sister I left a message for. I was careful, she wasn't near my wallet, even if she DID see the pin on my phone card there's only ten bucks on the thing and I'll just change the pin if charges show up.

So many wounded people.

Today has been good. My house is in order. Some pictures are up and my hammock is put together.

I need to go to the grocery store but I think I'll put that off until tomorrow.

Once again I didn't get to the Farmer's Market, but Mom and I went to Sam's club and I got blackberries, clementines, and peaches. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with all of those, but something.

And I discovered that I got the wrong book for Dad for Father's day so I'll have to return that, but we aren't doing anything until tomorrow evening.

Hammocks are the best thing in the world.

I repaired my own radiator this afternoon, I did!

It's an older car ('89 Caprice) so it has a big honkin brass radiator that has been leaking for some time. It finally got really bad, and resembled a fountain under the hood. A used radiator for it costs $45 and up to over $100. I was not about to spend money on someone who would repair it, only to replace the whole thing.

Between that and the future transmission replacement, I'm going to wait on major repairs until after my trip to get Andi.

Anyway, I took off the cowl, hefted one side of the radiator up so i could see it, then cleaned away around the affected brass strip. I crimped off the bad section, and then using Solder, flux and a big honkin soldering gun, I globbed up the whole hole but good.

I seem to have succeeded, as I ran the car for ten minutes without a drip from the radiator.

It's funny.I never thought of "Brian Kinney" as having another name that's not Brian. Some characters are just like that. Maybe because I'd never seen him before. Or maybe because it's Brian's world and we're all living in it.

Maybe it's Brian Griffith's world.
