I don't know the origin of merenege but it's a four count, steady beat.
One. Two. Three. Four. Take four steps left, right, front, back. Repeat. Change up the directions. Take four steps in a circle. Repeat. Mix it up.
That's basically mernege (or however it's spelled). You can go fast. You can go slow.
The showy stuff is all turns and some spins and lots of hip action. I'm forgetting excatly how the turns are excuted but it's all fairly basic.
I love spins and turns. So much fun.
Hello Kitty barrette has been ordered. Can't wait to receive!
Happy Birthday, askye!
Merengue (no spelling I've tried looks right, I know it's different from the stuff on top pie, but I can't remember how to spell that, either)
You've got the dance spelled correctly, -t, and the pie topping is Meringue.

I think we must have a picture.
Heather, I'm glad you found the piece you thought was lost, glad your puppy was there to help you feel better, and very glad your hubby shares your taste in guilty pleasures!
My hubby just had a job offer, although the parameters of the job and salary still need to be discussed. I'm trying not to push him to hard into something he won't like just because it will be a regular paycheck. Cross yer fingers, people!
Sounds liek a happy ending, Heather.
Fingers crossed for Mr. Sparky.
5.3, that sounds big. Everyone all right?
The way I learned merengue, you kind of drag your right foot a lot of the time, which meant we were all the time going to the left and never to the right. I wonder if my teacher was playing an elaborate joke on us...
EARTHQUAKE
Be careful now. Yikes. It can't be cool for the earth to shake and stuff.
Crawling in for a moment to wish Ali a Happy Birthday.
I'm feeling all ucky and sore throaty and dizzy and stuff. Heading back to bed now. Blah. I have too much to do for this crap.
It seems like there's been several California quakes recently.
I have no conclusion to draw from this.
