This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Some where there's a vdieo tape of my dance recital (and if there isn't I need to get a copy).

I never did send it to any one to get transfered to digital format. I need to add that to my list.

Okay, I'm going to stop spamming Bitches now. I promise.

Happy Birthday, askye!

Merenege sounds right up my alley, what with the easy and no rhythm required aspects.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Merengue (no spelling I've tried looks right, I know it's different from the stuff on top pie, but I can't remember how to spell that, either) is the one that was invented in honor of the guy with the bum leg, right?

Hee. Hello Kitty tiara

(edited to have what I wanted to say actually on the screen and not just in my head)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why does she have flippy hair?!??!

That's not right.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Happy birthday askye.

Yesterday was rough- well the first part. I got my writing samples together and asked Mr. H to read over them. He liked the academic paper and thought the press release was good, but thought the news article (which I'm not fond of, but won an award) was hella boring, and I shouldn't use it. Instead, I was going to look for a piece I did (nominated, but no award) as a news feature about a girl whose family was caught in the middle of a border war in Africa. Could not find the damn thing anywhere. So stupid too because, I've lost my clip book before, had to go up to the office and comb through the archives to find my stuff. I finally just collapsed in tears because a) the first piece wasn't good enough b) I'd lost one of my favorite pieces and c) so stupid of me considering I'd already been through this before.

I picked up puppy-boy and went to just get the cry out in the bedroom. Puppy-boy made me feel a little better, and I calmed down long enough to realize, I had been through this before. Which means I must have picked clips before, probably that one, so it's entirely likely they're on the old computer in the garage. Sure enough, there they were. I copied the thing by hand and typed it up today.

Also, after discovering I hadn't actually thrown away one of my favorite pieces, I discovered Mr. H shares my guilty pleasure. He was taking a nap while I was recording Dancing With the Stars and taking a shower. I get out and he's all "Get in here! You have to see this!" Turns out he woke up while it was on, started watching and loved it so much he called his parents to make them watch. We went and got popcorn and icees to watch the second show. Yay! We have a tv date on Wed for DWtS & the Inside which is awesome!

I don't know the origin of merenege but it's a four count, steady beat.

One. Two. Three. Four. Take four steps left, right, front, back. Repeat. Change up the directions. Take four steps in a circle. Repeat. Mix it up.

That's basically mernege (or however it's spelled). You can go fast. You can go slow.

The showy stuff is all turns and some spins and lots of hip action. I'm forgetting excatly how the turns are excuted but it's all fairly basic.

I love spins and turns. So much fun.
