I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

no way you can get that research assistant job, now, vw? (though I think probably not) I worry your P/T job is wearing you down.

I have begun... thinking about... looking for another job. Yay. I have a lead from a friend and I'm cruising the internal postings here.

Also, I SAW THE PIXIES LAST NIGHT AND THEY FUCKING ROCKED! Fucking A! So, anyway, people at Pixies concerts, apparantly, don't dance. Just us dorks (me and my friend M). I danced my wise ass off.

Sadly, I tried rocking out while walking and fell face forward, on my hands and knees. Everything hurts So Much today. I left work early because I couldn't focus.

In other news, I hate the people we are buying our house from. I am dreading the closing because I will have to sit there with these jerk-offs and not slap them silly.

For those of you who know the area, I was in Central, Inman and Harvard Squares. Such fun. My feetsies hurt.

I know the route to hit that circuit, but it's not a short walk, and I can only imagine what it would be like in heels.

Thrive to spite them

Thanks for all the birthday wishes.

I suddenly thought of something that my dad could have gotten me -- some dance lessons where I was taking them before. I realized after watching bits of Dancing with the Stars, how much I really miss it. I stopped because, well, like a baby who's learning new skills and regress is someways as she learns new skills I kind of gave it up to concentrate on other things.

I miss it and there's no way to afford lessons and I stopped going to the ball dance/latin dance nights because Dad goes too. So I was always around him (well not always, but a lot) and it was awkward.

Now, though, not so awkward for a lot of reasons. So I just checked online and there are a couple more places that have dance nights/free lessons. Most of them if you get there early there's no cover, but others it's just $5. I can afford that. And these are places I can wear my dance shoes and not worry about the soles.

So. That's what I'm going to do. Plus it forces me to be social.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Oh, good plan, askye. I am always in favor of plans with more ballroom dancing.

So jealous, Nora. I didn't dance when I saw the Pixies, but that was because it was outside and hot and I just couldn't really move. And good luck with the job getting!

Maybe after all the i's are dotted and the t's crossed you could "accidentally" kick 'em under the table? Or is this not an impulse that you need encouraged?

Best of luck with job and house.

askye, sounds like an excellent plan. I just went back to swing dancing last weekend after several months off (various and sundry reasons) and it was SO GREAT. So I definitely vote for get back out there and boogie, or foxtrot, whatev.

Peeps danced at the LA shows! I mostly just swished my head/hair around and sang along.

askye, I'm drawing a blank about where you are located, but if you're near a college/university there might be a club that hosts dance nights. we have all sorts of flyers up here for $1 or $5 nights, depending on the venue.

Remember that the closing is the last place you'll have to see the jerky sellers, Nora, so, while you probably can't slap them, after the papers are signed you could tell them off.
