Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Oh, Hooray Cashmere. Lucky baby-on-the-way to have such a terrific family to be born into!

Up with the sun

it's likely this new position offers less benefits or pays less.

No. I was in the posted salary range -- I had taken a pay cut to work there. I probably would have asked for a raise at my one-year review, but they could have said no, and I'm not sure how much difference it will really make to pay a recent grad $26K vs. paying me $29K anyhow. And I didn't really have any benefits, I was never on their health insurance and had only been eligible for the 401(k) (no employer matching) for three weeks.

Like I said, this is all just extremely fishy and depressing.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Congratulations, Cashmere, DH, and big brother Owen!

Yippee for Soon to be Big Brother Owen!

Are Buffistas hiding their ugly babies?

I am convinced that if a Buffista had a baby that was ugly, said baby would be just hiding all the spectacular good looks for adult-hood, when baby would become so beautiful we would all die.

Perkins, aren't you on vacation?

ETA: Lyra, that just proves they're a bunch a creeps. I'm glad you're outta there! (But sorry you don't have work.)

Right now, I'm looking for just about anything science-y or writer-y to fund me while I look/wait for a medical science liaison position to open up in an area yet to be determined. Lab work, medical writing, editing, whatever. I'm in Ann Arbor, but I know I can do this sort of thing remotely, the writing/editing part, you know? I came across a listing of a pharm company in New Jersey that has a backlog of papers they need edited and figures made for so they can get them published, but all I have is the address and no other contact information. The local newspaper doesn't take freelance science writers; I'm going to call up the Detroit Free Press next. I have a feeling that rather than find an actual job, I may be able to make do for a while finding lots of profitable small gigs. If only I could find them.

Meanwhile, I keep getting e-mails from random insurance companies who believe I am an "excellent candidate" for selling insurance.
