[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Nora, can you sit down with coworker and a list of tasks and figure out who does what when? Make a plan so things are prioritized.

Well, I don't like talking to her very much, so there's a problem. My problem, for sure. It's all good now, though. Relatively speaking.

I knew the potted plant would work.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

In the continuing saga of my day…

I decided to take a cab, even in good weather, because I was so tired, headachey and late. As I was calling the cab, the power went out, causing my cordless phone to go dead. I had given enough info to the cab company, so the cab might be coming in 10-13 minutes, but had not confirmed, so it might not. So, I shut down my computer (the one good thing about me being home when this happened, as I had planned to leave it on…with the intervention of the UPS, this shouldn’t have damaged the computer at all), and waited for the cab. After about 15 minutes, I decided that it wasn’t coming and started walking to work, about 15 minutes after I should have been there already, having not called in because of the no working phone. I got about three blocks, when a cab came by me and turned up my street. At this point, I was inclined to just walk to work, but didn’t want a bad rep with the cab companies, so I ran back home, uphill, waving my arms in the air to get the drivers attention. I then spent the last of my cash on cab fare. I got in to work, after a near miss with the elevator (doors stuck half way open for a little too long to be comfortable). At this point, I desperately needed a Dr. Pepper. Coffee wouldn’t do, as my stomach was upset from nerves and lack of sleep (I so can’t do no sleep well anymore). But, no cash. So I popped over to the ATM to get some, only to discover that it’s out of order. I can write a check, and later remembered that I have water money (I collect for water for our office, and then write a check to cover all the cash), but this is really turning into one of those days…

On the bright side, if buffistas and friends really think I'm a tad off my rocker, they are keeping it to themselves and being very nice and supportive. And I'm pretty confident that after I sleep tonight, I'll be disappointed but rather more sane.

Wait, you are planning these two huge events and not really talking to each other? AND she is not pulling her weight? No wonder you feel overwhelmed.

There's a pair up already. Bid starting at $20, Buy it Now at $100. Yipes.

I could do the $20. NSM the $100. Also, I'm afraid to buy the tickets off eBay. From what I read about earlier previews, it might be difficult to get in with scalped tickets. Imagine paying that, waiting in line, and not getting in. Oy.

libkitty, that is a yuck-ass day.

and, blargh. I think I screwed something up very royally. I'm hoping it will work out, but it's looking grim.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

That does sound fetching. Do you have your hair up but loose like you did in LA?

Hec is crazy-psychic when it comes to hair. Yep, I have it pulled back with cute little jeweled bobby pins. It's even longer than it was in LA, though; don't sob in vexation. I like it longer. It's to the middle of my bak, now.

Just got back from lunch. I ate on a bench on the Plaza -- SUCH good people watching. And I read drom "Reading Lolita in Tehran" which I am very much enjoying.
