Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey. New board.

Been gone for a while.

Have time to hang out more, now.

Only thing I have to say, though, is that this thread title ROCKS.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Shrift, sorry for your loss.

Deena, very glad your dad's doing well.

vw, you rock. Your therapist rocks too. (so does mine. She's already told me she expects a letter in a few months saying how things are going in Minnesota)

Cashmere, I meant to say before how adorable Owen is, very cute with the dandelions.

Not javachik

granola, from yesterday eve:

Askye! Plei! Thanks, it's nice to be remembered!

mini-meara:

It's great to hear from billytea! and I'm happy to hear that things are going well back in his homeland.

YAY, vw! GOOD WORK.

Deena, I'm so sorry about your father, but glad he DID make it to the hospital and that medical treatment is working for him.

shrift, I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm not missing New Orleans, because me in 80% humidity is not a happy Java, but I really, really, really had a FABULOUS time taking photographs at the prom last year, and am so sorry that I won't get to do it again. Do you know, I never went to the prom itself? I was outside on the roof all night, taking photos - in some cases, inside, like, getting Emily to walk down the stairs at just THAT angle. It's exactly what I wanted to do and it made me very happy. You've heard that saying, shy people need props? It was kind of a prop, but more than that, I thought it was something that I could do that was wanted and needed that was also fun for me, and I think that for the most part, they came out really well and people liked the photos of them.

Thrive to spite them

I went over to Mom's tonight and she told me about the conversation she had with my aunt today.

My aunt went over to check on G'ma and foudn the thermostat cover and been pulled off , but the air conditioner wasn't on. Aunt *thinks* G'ma tried to adjust the temperature but couldn't remember how.

It looks like when Mom goes home she and my aunt will be trying to figure out about getting G'ma in assisted living. Mom's very very upset about this, she's also really worried about how they'll get G'ma into assisted living when she doesn't think she needs to go. Mom's freaked that they'll have to declare G'ma incompetent, which will be tramautic for Mom but she's worried about how that will effect G'ma.

My aunt is burning out quickly.

My other aunt is a being a bitch and my uncle was a complete ass at Mother's Day. Mom's also worried that they will oppose G'ma going to assisted living. But neither of them are willing to change their lives and have G'ma live with them. If Mom could she'd retire right now and move up there or move and bring G'ma down here, but she can't do that.

They just need lots of ~ma right now.

Plus my aunt's elderly dog has not been doing well and she's been reluctant to put him to sleep, but it's time and so she's having to deal with that as well.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I think this wedding thing is going to go OK after all. The fact they've brought their own wedding coordinator (the groom's SIL) makes less work for me. I was able to get everything set up with only minor glitches, and the sound tech helped me move the furniture. My back is actually feeling better than it did before I left--I think all the walking around was a nice stretch for it. So tomorrow will be a long day, but hopefully a relatively smooth one. Mostly I'm just there to keep an eye on things and be a resource. Technically I could leave, but since I don't live super-close to the church, it makes more sense to stay. I'll bring a notebook to work on the novel and maybe the contest entries I'm judging, and hopefully make a good writing day of it.

OK, i don't get how I'm supposed to get those people across the river. Help!

I was going to be out partying. But then I realized I hadn't eaten dinner, and I had blood drawn earlier today. And I wimped out and came home and ate (just now) and will go to bed soon. Much to do tomorrow. Ack.
