Reavers ain't men. Or they forgot how to be. Now they're just nothing. They got out to the edge of the galaxy, to that place of nothing, and that's what they became.

Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

That ties right into the whole "selective hearing" debate my parents used to have with me.

One of the very interesting things about coaching is that kids who don't belong to you will listen to you, whereas your own kids tune you out.

Emmett does listen to me, but not in the same way. I have to drill him forever while he rolls his eyes and snarks. Eventually though he'll feed it back to me and I know it got through. If Tim is coaching him though, he'll just make an immediate adjustment. Same with Tim's daughter, Emma. When I told her to lengthen her stride while pitching, boom, she just did it.

This jives with what I remember of my dad coaching soccer. He eventually decided to coach a team that none of his kids were on, though all three of us played.

Timelies all!

Deena, I'm sorry to hear about your dad's heart attack. I'm sending much ~ma your way.

shrift, I'm so sorry to hear about your cousin.

I'm back in Colorado. I had forgotten how much I loved living here! The mountains are so beautiful!!! Anyway, I'll be skimming for the next few days because I'm in town for my graduation from law school. I pick up my robes this afternoon and tomorrow is the ceremony.

Wait, are we talking about BASEBALL here?

Darlingnest Scrappy, you've seen Bull Durham enough to know the sex and baseball core values.

If I only had a brain...

Okay, this is a very good idea: anti-stink insoles for sandals.

I don't know, walking around on wool in the summer sounds iffy to me.

Six bucks a pair is also pretty expensive. And they don't come in pink.

Herding cats for fun

Checks sweaty feet link, gets excited. Then remembers sad financial situation and does not wield credit card. Wah.

Wool is surprisingly unstinky stuff, even in my shoes. I rolled up some roving and made myself some arch supports and relieved my plantar fascitis. It all felted together into the perfect shape for me, so that was a really easy project.

IT's not the smell of wool that troubles me, but the feel. The feeling of walking around on a wool carpet all day in the summertime sounds quite unappealing. I'll stick to powders.

Hm. Well, perhaps the socks prevented contact itch troubles. Dunno. Some wools are much finer than others, of course.
