I just had a weird pet event. I was going through my clip book and heard what sounded like Oz being chased by Max. However, I knew that couldn't be because he was right there trying to chew on my clips. Then all hell broke loose, and Max comes running in chasing a ginormous, grey bobtailed cat who then proceeds to get into it with our Phoebe. I can't get anywhere near the cats until Phoebe is harrassed by Oz, so I grab her hissing and spitting and also pissing all over me. I put her in the laundry room, Oz in his crate and Max in the bathroom. Coax grey cat out from under the bed so I can get it outside (he was pretty sweet once he wasn't fighting with my animals). Let everyone out of their holding areas and Oz and Phoebe had accidents from all the stress/excitement. Clip book was luckily spared.

Yikes, Heather. That is scary. How'd the gray cat get in? Glad everyone (and, frankly, the clip file) is okay.

That is freaky, Heather. I'm glad things worked out more or less okay, with little injury.

Same thing happened to a friend, Heather. He used to leave the window open for the cats, and then couldn't anymore because the neighbor cat (who, coincidentally looked just like one of his, except bigger) would come into his apartment and beat up his. It sucks. I'm glad everyone is ok, and hope that it works out for you and your kitties. It sounds like you handled it really well.

Shadow's sister used to wander into the house when the door was open. They're identical plushy black cats with yellow eyes, and it was only when Hubby noticed the cat with its nose in the food dish that he was petting didn't have a chewed up ear that he realized it wasn't Shadow. Then Shadow appeared and scolded his sister for horning in on his good thing.

It's funny now. I think the cat got in through the front door. It doesn't always shut very well, so it probably just opened it. Oz probably enjoyed it more than anything. If it involves chasing something, he's all about it. Phoebe's probably the only one who's really emotionally scarred. But, she's dumb and has probably already forgotten the whole thing happened.

ETA- I'm mostly just trying to settle down and type up these resumes. Oh, and I get to do the pledge drive for our public stations this weekend and next- after the Habitat orientation at 8, I have pledge drive at 11:30. This weekend's will be live.

I just saw my nephew on the TV news, in national sports! He's so talented and gorgeous and nice! Plus, brilliant. Not that I'm biased or anything.

So.

I can't sleep and I'm feeling kind of down so I went back and re-read the labor-and-post in here while we were in the hospital and well, I'm crying now. Thanks guys, for being such awesome people and awesome friends.
