I'm not sure how old he is, but I heard him use the word 'newfangled' one time, so he's gotta be pretty far gone.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

On the candy jingles theme -- you know the Almond Joy/Mounds jingle about feeling like a nut? I was readng a book called "Candyfreak" last week, and it mentioned offhand that the company hasn't actually used it in almost two decades. It's just been in all of our heads for all that time.

Two decades. Wow. I was just wondering how long it's been, because I knew I still know it far too well, for however long it's been.

Hey, all. At my new little temp job -- it's super easy, and everyone here is really nice.

I should be able to work on resumes to my heart's content, which is great. My home DSL got cut off (what? they want me to pay for it? Craxxy) so I'll be kinda grey except for 8-5.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hi Erin

Very good! Is the make-up counter job still a possibility? Because that sounded like fun.

I am now driving myself crazy trying to remember the words to the Almond Joy/Mounds jingle that don't spring instantly to mind.

It is, I guess. I need to call and set it up. I think this job will go on till the end of June -- until they hire a new FT receptionist, really. It's a financial advisor firm, and all they want me to do is answer the phone, sort mail, and maybe help with some form letters.

EZ to the max. And I have full net access and Word, so I can job hunt and write and play around. Basically, I have to look cute and be perky.

Erin, are you teaching in fall? Or planning to, but need to find a job? Or... do I have you mixed up with someone else? Or is this a touchy subject and I should back the hell off?

Fucking bitchface!

No, seriously...I HOPE to be teaching in the fall, if UMKC doesn't completely and totally mess up my certification, which they are in the process of doing. *sigh* I''m sending out resumes, but I've been stymied on it, because most places want a transcript, and since I have 12 hours of incomplete for my student teaching (because UMKC doesn't have a score for the Praxis, which I've taken, and therefore my 12 hours of A are currently I) I don't want to send out transcripts with that Incomplete on there.

I'm faxing my PERFECT SCORE to UMKC after lunch, so hopefully this snafu will be taken care of tomorrow. Or else.

Erin, that's excellent! Go perfect score! I've been hearing a lot about the PRAXIS, but it doesn't look like we need to take it here. Is it in the place of a state test, or in addition?

Also, I hear that a lot of schools don't hire until fairly late in the summer anyway. Which sounds seriously nervewracking, but fortunate if you're being screwed over like that.

Connie, are you eligible for Medicare or Medicaid? I know Medicare covers CPAP machines for apnea. I probably have the coverage criteria somewhere (I used to write about this stuff), if you want to check with your insurers, since private insurers usually follow Medicare.

Connie, are you eligible for Medicare or Medicaid?

I make too much money to qualify for Medicare/Medicaid. I guess I should call my insurer to see what they'll cover, especially with my office doing reimbursements.
