Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
The rule of thumb is that wherever you're making the cut (either for a blunt line, or adding in layers) is where you're going to draw the eye. So make sure the length is flattering your best features (cheekbones, eyes, mouth).
Did Hec just say I had a nice mouth?
t looks in mirror
I guess I'll find out how good the stylists at my local salon are when I try this. I've had such a basic cut for so long, the only real rule being to keep it below chin length, because any shorter and I look like Jay Leno through the jaw, that any reasonably competent stylist can manage it.
If I play with layers a bit when I go in later this month, at least I'll have time to grow it out before the Big Writers Conference in October if it's an utter disaster.
On the candy jingles theme -- you know the Almond Joy/Mounds jingle about feeling like a nut? I was readng a book called "Candyfreak" last week, and it mentioned offhand that the company hasn't actually used it in almost two decades. It's just been in all of our heads for all that time.
Two decades. Wow. I was just wondering how long it's been, because I knew I still know it far too well, for however long it's been.
Hey, all. At my new little temp job -- it's super easy, and everyone here is really nice.
I should be able to work on resumes to my heart's content, which is great. My home DSL got cut off (what? they want me to pay for it? Craxxy) so I'll be kinda grey except for 8-5.
Hi Erin
At my new little temp job -- it's super easy, and everyone here is really nice
Very good! Is the make-up counter job still a possibility? Because that sounded like fun.
I am now driving myself crazy trying to remember the words to the Almond Joy/Mounds jingle that don't spring instantly to mind.
It is, I guess. I need to call and set it up. I think this job will go on till the end of June -- until they hire a new FT receptionist, really. It's a financial advisor firm, and all they want me to do is answer the phone, sort mail, and maybe help with some form letters.
EZ to the max. And I have full net access and Word, so I can job hunt and write and play around. Basically, I have to look cute and be perky.
Erin, are you teaching in fall? Or planning to, but need to find a job? Or... do I have you mixed up with someone else? Or is this a touchy subject and I should back the hell off?
Or is this a touchy subject and I should back the hell off?
Fucking bitchface!
No, seriously...I HOPE to be teaching in the fall, if UMKC doesn't completely and totally mess up my certification, which they are in the process of doing. *sigh* I''m sending out resumes, but I've been stymied on it, because most places want a transcript, and since I have 12 hours of incomplete for my student teaching (because UMKC doesn't have a score for the Praxis, which I've taken, and therefore my 12 hours of A are currently I) I don't want to send out transcripts with that Incomplete on there.
I'm faxing my PERFECT SCORE to UMKC after lunch, so hopefully this snafu will be taken care of tomorrow. Or else.
one of the good temp jobs - esp when all you are really looking for is money.
So DH has me off loading pictures in a new and different way. this started before caffine. who new a pot of tea was part of the key to me being calm ...
Erin, that's excellent! Go perfect score! I've been hearing a lot about the PRAXIS, but it doesn't look like we need to take it here. Is it in the place of a state test, or in addition?
Also, I hear that a lot of schools don't hire until fairly late in the summer anyway. Which sounds seriously nervewracking, but fortunate if you're being screwed over like that.
Connie, are you eligible for Medicare or Medicaid? I know Medicare covers CPAP machines for apnea. I probably have the coverage criteria somewhere (I used to write about this stuff), if you want to check with your insurers, since private insurers usually follow Medicare.
