Book: I believe I just... I think I'm on the wrong ship. Inara: Maybe. Or maybe you're exactly where you ought to be.

Spike's Bitches 24: I'm Very Seldom Naughty.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

You so don't want to go there... You (ahem) encouraged me!

I was kidding t butter wouldn't melt in my mouth face Why would I suggest you write such a thing?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Why would I suggest you write such a thing?
I'm assuming it was to return the favor.

Hee hee hee.

I, stupidly, ate too much once I could eat again. Now my tummy hurts again. I am die-anating.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Wow! Congrats to Stephanie and welcome, Ellie! I'm in for flowers and will try to remember to paypal after I cook dinner.

Not quite a baby, but I wrote 11 pages on the wip this afternoon! Major important pages wherein Big Secrets are revealed. And while I've never smoked in my life, I sorta feel like I should be leaning back with a cigarette in hand and asking Jack and Anna if it was good for them too. Which would undoubtedly annoy them, since I didn't quite let them have sex this time. (I'm violating too many other rules of a proper Regency historical to mess with the one where you have to tease your readers a few times before giving them a consummation scene.)

t grumble I bet if those judges had seen this scene they would've given me high scores! t /grumble But they didn't. And it's not even hinted at in the old shitty synopsis. Anyway, if this scene seems half as good once the creative afterglow has faded, I might finally have an entry for the contests that want your best scene or a scene of sexual tension. Except that I'm not entering any more contests until I've heard back from all the ones I've entered in my spring competitive orgy and had time to decide if these things are actually helping me.

Yay Susan for the pages!

WOW Stephanie, well done and quick.

Art Crawl!!!

Congrats to Stephanie and dh!

Susan W -- I too love the new Doctor. Sadly, there seems to be a strange lack in numbers of pictures of Christopher Eccleston on the net. I don't understand why that is.

What is the deadline for paypaling?

And despite a really dramatic early afternoon t-storm (high winds, sheets of rain . . . winds high enough to blow over a semi) -- it is still really really hot and humid and still here.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Like this story: [link] won't fan the rhetoric...

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Altering a single gene in a fruit fly can turn its sexual orientation around, causing male flies to lose interest in females, and females to display male mating rituals to other females, according to a study published in the journal Cell on Friday.

OTOH, the article is informative on one point:

The male taps the female with his forelegs, sings a specific courtship song by extending and vibrating a wing, licks her genitalia, and then curls his abdomen for copulation.

Try that the next time you're out clubbing. Whee.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Congratulations, Stephanie and Joe and welcome Ellie! That's excellent news.

Emmett had a cold the last couple days, low grade fever, coughs. He felt too worn out to play in the tournament game today, and consequently our team lost. This is the same team we beat last week when Emmett shut them out for three innings. Gruesomely disappointing end to the season. My stomach felt like it had a lump of uncooked dough as I watched the team lose.

On the plus side, JZ has the cutest new haircut in the history of the world.
